My ideal TTS voices
Female: - GLaDOS (Portal game); - Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (Star Trek: Enterprise ship voice); - Half Life Tram voice Male: - Stephen Fry (actor/comedian, language connoisseur) - Jim Dale (actor, audiobook legend) - Samuel L Jackson (would be hilarious to listen to him reading a romance novel) |

I am just trying to let everybody know that it could be Friday of next week before we have any real info. He will also be stopping in China to find young pirate girls for Griffonwing so we can get him on the right track. Last edited by Robertb; 07-09-2009 at 03:26 PM. |

TTS on Pocket PRO is auto-advance
Quote:
The EZ Reader Pocket PRO has auto-page advance!! You can turn the volume down low and it will advance the pages for you automatically! By the way, I am getting exaspirated again. I have the fastest and most powerful pocketable device coming out in 6 colors and loaded with TTS and ADE and this great old thread seems to be largely deserted. Have I missed something? Everyone seems to be hot for paying more money for a lot less product. Kindle breaks the $300 barrier and THAT is news. Cool-er has nothing that remotely rivals the speed and power of the Pocket PRO and yet it is news. I am beginning to believe that this thread has kinda run its course. It just is a very peculiar time for so little chatter. |

Where is the support site?
Robert,
Since the mobieread.com site automatically redirects to astak.com and there are no support options for the EZ Reader on that site, where would one go to download a copy of the manual or an updated firmware? Thanks. |

You've exhausted almost everything there is about the EZ Pocket Pro that there's really not much else to talk about now, except for a positive release date and date for pre-orders. Until then, I'll pass the time until such time as YOU RELINQUISH THOSE RELEASE DATES! Arggghhh! |

There is really nothing out there, as you say, with this price point, these features, so really, to me, there is no other option BUT wait. |

Yes, what Griffonwing just said.
![]() I'm also hoping that a few more drips of information will come back about upcoming units (that you can legitimately pass on) and maybe a few pictures or mock-ups. During a trip to San Diego, CA a few weeks ago I visited Fry's Electronics just to see a Jetbook next to a Sony (the display was being moved so there wasn't an EZ Reader to hold) and how much of a size difference there would be in the 5" and 6" device. I did prefer the 6" screen size, but I am so tired of waiting. But I also don't want to buy a Pocket Pro and find out that what I really really want will be available for order in another month. Decisions, decisions, decisions... Sometime soon I will actually have to make one! ![]() |

Thanks for letting me know. I have either my computer monitor with my current ereader, or my new MP4 with txt (it's a little smaller than an iphone) and let them advance while I sit back comfortably with my arms supported. I'm breathlessly awaiting TTS because I'm hooked on audio books. ![]() I know mobipocket DRM is by ID, and ereader is by Cr Card no., but how is pdf and epub's DRM controlled? I tried lookin in WIKI but I couldn't find where it specified. Anybody have a simple answer? Thanks, AJ Last edited by AJ Starr; 07-08-2009 at 09:14 PM. |

New website coming!
Quote:
We closed www.mobiebook.com to reorganize it. We hoped to have the new website up by now. We had a trial walkthrough of the new Website about 8 days ago and twenty people made great suggestions. The revision should be done on Monday and then shortly after we hope to put it online. If you send me a private message I will be happy to get you a FAQ sheet and User Manual. Both are too long to post here. Are you looking for the EZ Reader Basic or the Pocket PRO? |

Auto-Page Advance and ADE DRM
Quote:
For audio books you would not want to adjust the volume downward. For regular books, however, one Forum member suggested just putting it on TTS and turning the volume down and that way you essentially get auto-page turning. It was just a hepful hint! ADE also uses a PID like Mobi. That is assigned to you by Adobe when you first log in. Yes, Fictionwise uses a CC number instead to work exactly as a PID works. Walter Shan is our expert on PID and ADE. You can always call him at: 408-452-8788. He also fully understands the TTS as he is one of our best techncial support guys. |
