Robert, I also am a web-designer, although I only have one website to my name, that of the church architect firm I work at. Unfortunately, we don't even come up on the first 50 pages of google, even though we are a very specific genre of business. Poor implementation somewhere, still trying to work it out. So I won't be giving you any pointers

Dear Mockman:

Despite all of the strengths the Pocket PRO brings (Epson Controller, 400MHz processor, SD card to 16GB, Text-To-Speech)... YES, I do see $199-$209 as the price. Now, Jinke may see otherwise... but Astak is still firm that we need it in this range.

Astak is prepared to take a much smaller margin... but we will not take a loss. Let us see what Jinke will allow us to sell at. Right now I am hearing this may come in right.

IF anybody accuses me of waffling from this post they are NOT reading clearly. I am holding my ground.

Hi Robert It's nice that FRY'S will be shipping.. I will be checking out their website on July 4th to see what the best price will be.. I was just on their website and did a preliminary checkout for the Astak Ez Reader. I am Canadian but I do have an American address in NY state. I don't think I can wait for the Pro, so I am going to order the 6 incher to help you and Astak out If the price is right, one will be coming to me... I hope... Thanks for the info...

Well, I guess after properly firing a parrot (i.e. on a skewer above low flames... be sure to tear out all feathers first, if you can't stand the stench of burning feathers...), I don't think anyone needs to fear that encounter with a 82 cannon frigate called Esmeralda... :-)

Make sure that you buy it on July 4 & 5 from FRY's Electronics. That will be the lowest price of the year on the 6 inch EZ Reader. We are giving FRY's a $30 rebate for those two days. Buy from FRYs.com if you need to do so. I am hoping that, with the rebate, the price may reach $219 or lower!

Dear ALL:

For months I have been saying DRM is coming and you all have been incredibly patient with me on this. Finally I have some concrete facts:

1. ALL new Mentor and EZ Readers WILL have Adobe Digital Editions pre-ported.

2. Another batch of EZ Readers will be arriving the last week of June and will have the pre-port.

3. The first 500 white and 500 black Mentor Lites will arrive the second week of JULY all pre-ported with ADE.

4. The first Mentor Lites will not have the MP3 working. The factory is just wrapping up the negotiation with the MP3 format people. I expect that by the first week in August we will have the MP3 firmware upgrade ready for the Mentor Lite.

5. ALL of those who have purchased either Mobipocket or Non-DRM versions of the EZ Reader 6 inch in the past... we will have the Adobe Digital Editions firmware upgrade up on the new website (www.goEZebook.com) as soon as the new website is finally finished (which I expect to be the third week of July or sooner). FINALLY you will have ADE.

6. All those who have Mobipocket EZ Readers... you have a choice to make. You can either keep your device just as it is and not do the ADE firmware upgrade... or do the ADE upgrade and it will erase your Mobi DRM. Your Mobi Non-DRM will be fine... but you will lose access to your Mobi DRM books. You cannot have BOTH on the device as Mobi demands exclusivity. As you know, we had to follow Amazon's line on this... so please do not blame Astak. They set the law.

7. We still hope to have the Fictionwise eReader DRM pre-ported and as a firmware upgrade sometime in early August.

I think the vast majority of you should be very pleased with this announcement!

Many of you have asked for an update on the 6 inch Touchscreen Mentor Intrique!! It arrived three hours ago.

You will find my initial review very interesting in my blog today (www.robertbEZ.blogspot.com). I refer to it as Invicta... but it really is the Intrique. Sorry to confuse you. Please use the name "Intrique" when referring to it.

It is a Friday and minds run slowly on Friday. I know you all are getting ready for the weekend so maybe this little first run-down on the Intrique will help!

It is believed the Intrique will have wireless also, either built-in or dongle. OH, and please become a regular on my blog. So far, only 15 great people have signed up as regulars and I can use a little growth there.

Most of my boardroom meetings end with me screaming and yelling: "Take that damned parrot out of here, give me all your valuables, and see my Jolly Roger taatooed on my backside". This seems to command attention and then we all break for discussions on Slate Blue.
