Griffonwing: thank you for mentioning our Pocket PRO on another thread today. I appreciate that!
I would have commented earlier, but it's Wednesday, and I have choir practice. ( *nudge nudge* Wilma, look at that freak in the second row. Maybe we should go to another church)

Anyway, my parrot is nowhere to be seen. Apparently he took off with Paris's pooch. Although a still have my sword. As a matter of fact, I'll be going to the renfaire in Joplin, MO on July 25. It'll be FUN!

And the black case is a perfect choice for the slate blue reader.

Once I have it in my hands, I might see about switching my slate blue buttons for someone's black buttons. Would opening up the case void any warranty?

Robertb,

I feel that most comments will be of a constructive nature..but everyone has their own ideas on what works. There isn't a site I have seen that a negative comment could not be made on some aspect of its design.

I think the main thing is that it be intuitive, show off your EZ-Reader Line, and be easy to locate and purchase books on.

Any comment that just mentions it's "crummy, lousy, smells like three day old manure" you should just trash and not even spent a second of your time on.

Constructive criticism is completely different. If I were to say "It's crummy because those bright green and bright yellow colours hurt my eyes (and don't even mention those purple spots!)" you know where the problem is.

You will get negative criticism, be sure of that, nothing you'll make will be perfect for everybody. The challenge is to find that middle way where you are happy with it, and all your users are happy with it.

I hate it even more, when I am not able to get what they actually want out of them at all (I am a developer, too). If they finally say it, then you have a chance to give it to them, and if you do, you usually have a happy customer.

Greek language supported by EZ Reader

Dear Astraxan:

Welcome.

The EZ Reader supports greek language. It does not translate into Greek but will take documents that are in Greek and display them in the language. However, the present models do not have note taking.

Note taking will be coming on future models (perhaps as early as September). Those will likely be using a soft keyboard for typed notes.

Handwritten notes take Touchscreen. Not ALL touchscreen has note taking however. We should have Touchscreen in August but I do not know yet if it will have note taking. I do know handwritten note taking is planned.

I hope that this helps.

Dear SweetPea and Robvarga:

Oh, Oh... now I have two website developers going to review. Phenomshel has that expertise too.

Yes, I also hope people will clarify what they like and do not like. Criticism like "I hate that thingee in the bottom" will not do much. Constructive criticism is good... just please realize I do not want to irritate Fictionwise who loaned us their website designer to do this.

I do want to give people what City Planners call "a sense of place"... feeling that they belong there and are comfortable there.

Thank you for all feedback on colors!!

Dear All:

We roughly got about 50 posts on choice of colors.

Last night my boss asked me to go online and verify what are people's favorite colors from a big sampling. I found a survey that listed most favorite and least favorite colors by sex and by age.

What I found is that the input I got from the 50 posts was identical to the larger sample. So, people on MobileRead Forum know their stuff on colors. Thanks to you I think we have exactly the colors that people will find most appealing. Overwhelmingly, most sexes love blue. After that women like purple and then red and men (after Blue) like Black and then Red. Only the very young like green. The least favorite colors stated by both sexes were orange and brown.

Erm...oh dear. In that case, I may abstain from commenting. This is going to get me shot, but Fictionwise's site is not (in my opinion) the best example of what a bookseller site should be. To be fair, though, I haven't seen an online bookseller site yet that IS what I think one should be, and Fictionwise IS functional. So....good luck, and I'm still looking forward to the run through!

Dear ALL:

I realize that this is not a dating site; but surely there is a pirate girl out there somewhere that wants to have her timbers shivered by a Swashbuckling pirate with a puppet on his shoulder.

Free bottle of rum for the first girl that steps up to the plank.

The website designer for Fictionwise helped to do what we asked him to do. The site is largely our design and not his. But, we just said "let us have this" and he was kind enough to do it.

Maybe I can use some help here.
