Textual Electronic Devices or 'Teds', affectionately known as 'Edwards'. Some people will, of course, take this a few steps further - in which case they may be nicknamed : Teddies, Poohs, Bears, Cuddlies and somesuchlike derivations. This, at least initially, may cause much confusion. Thus, asking a young lady if you can look at her 'Bear', may not be appropriate. Similarly, telling your friends that you borrowed your wife's new 'Teddy' may get you some strange looks from your buddies. Also, telling anyone that gazing at 'Pooh' for hours on-end is one of your favourite pastimes, is probably not a good idea. However, telling your loved one that you'd like to share a 'Cuddle' with her may get you some kudos.

I think you're right. Books are books, and I refuse to start using a new name, 'pbook', for what has always been and will aways be a book. A book comes in a variety of formats, including, increasingly, electronic formats. They are still books.

A device used to read a book in one of the electronic formats, is an e-book.

The motion is on the floor. (At least, that's where it was with Harv & Vera.)

I vote either "Vladimir" or "Pugsley" as they are the appropriate names for anything that no one can agree on a name for.

I personally named my devices eBook and PalmeBook and refer to them as eBook readers when I don't call them PDAs.

Once I'll get an eBook Reader, I'll call it "my child" and the ebooks will be food for my child.... as it's used with cars from tuners which they call the car "my girl"... so in this way no names to complicate life as they called a Shelby Mustang GT500 as Eleanor.... :-DDDD
