Who would determine the standards for sanity? Is there an objective standard for determining sanity? Would having a minor quirk (not like in My Hero Academa) lead to a determination of insanity?

Could it be that he was unhappy as an attorney? Could it be that he thought being a farmer might be a more enjoyable life? Didn't his wife adjust to life on the farm well, taking all of the strangeness in stride? Is it possible that Hooterville was Fox Mulder's hometown (thus explaining how he could handle all of the weirdness he encountered)?

Is it not true that the entire thrust of human civilization has been to get as far from nature as possible?
And pray tell what makes the hard scrabble life endured by most humans through history so appealing? You want your family out there plowing fields with human labour? |

Do you not find there's something rewarding about physical toil?

Did I not find the entire thrust of my career in electronics and IT was to work smarter not harder?

Perhaps there's a negative correlation between the amount of physical labour a job requires and corruption? Is that self-evident when looking at the extremes?

Do you mean an inverse correlation? If it is as you posit then is that why chain gangs were invented?
But does it work? |

I though chain-gangs were a way for prisoners to contribute for their upkeep to reduce the burden of the taxpayer?

Could that be related to men on ships using oars to propel the ship forward?
