I was expecting better resolution but not better contrast.

So Max has 10:1 and new Max has 15:1 - can anyone confirm is the difference between these two types of screens so big in terms on contrast?

Btw I see tha old Max is unavailable, I guess sold out, nice

Actually Eink Carta offers not only better contrast and higher resolution, but also supports so called "Regal" technology, which virtually eliminates the need for a full page refresh with page turns.

So:

• Max sold out
• Dasung sold out
• even Good ereader device got plenty of orders and hundreds of thousands of dollars for their Indiegogo campain.
• Kobo Auro One sold out multiple times that even Kobo itself was suprised with the demand and couldn't keep up producing them.

I am waiting for people to tell me that big e-readers it's a small niche no one cares about again...

What's a "small" market for a company like Sony (or even Amazon) can be plenty big enough for (comparatively) small players like Onyx. A niche market (which large-screen eInk devices undoubtedly are) isn't automatically one that a company can't be a success in.

I support the ability to insert empty pages in pdf's for notes. As a matter of fact and in spite of its virtues, it is not possible to add as many notes in our Max as in a paper. And in any case, sometimes the densitiy of the printed surface in a page does not allow makes difficcult to note anything. In my opinion this capability will make superior the ereader to a paper book in still another aspect.

You are one of the few who will probably deliver on the proposed release date. Shame on me for generalizing it ...

There is another problem. My budget is not ready for another e-book reader so soon.

That is really tempting. Huge e-ink devices are my biggest weakness.

Exactly, not only is the picture of a Max the product is a Max. It is not a Max 2, it is a Max Carta.

at the moment there is no final design of Max2. There are just some engineers models for testing purpose which internally are called like EGF-E133, YDJX, ... Those are needed to optimize the hardware and software. Everything about them is confidential and even we don't know much details about technical specs and have to keep quiet. Concerning power button - we have urgently suggested to re-position it to the top. I hope the decisive person will listen to this and some other our suggestions.
