I’m sure that you used to be able to just put at the end 1-30 or 30-50

Yeah, the mismatch was weird. The epub said ffnet, but both the publisher and longtext said AO3.

Since the ffnet url was 404'd, my best guess is that the author deleted a crossposted story from ffnet and I swapped out the URLs and re-downloaded the metadata but not a new ePub. Probably not a common situation.

I have been attempting to standardize ships to make them easily searchable on the kindle. However, I am having trouble figuring it out.

I attempted using the following code:

'data-src'

Haven't had much time to look at it, but it is far from all stories that give it.

I think the main issue you have here is that basically in category other than [defaults] takes priority over [defaults]. However replace_metadata has priority over add_to_replace_metadata. So I really see two options to solve this, depending on your preference, and what you want to do with it at the end. 1.

Overall, good luck. I personally gave up on sorting relationships ages ago. Not because of any issue fith FanficFare, but because Ao3 has 200 different tags for each ship, and most fics on FFN has ships in the summary instead of in tags, so generally its just all a huge mess. Maybe you have more patience than I had.

Edit: I suggest you debug your code with actual story urls, instead of typing metadata in .ini. Might be easier and give you more realistic results.

It took me a while to figure it out as well. But I've picked up a few tricks along the way thanks to this thread. You're using regular expressions, I would suggest getting the basics down with some tutorials on "https://regexone.com/lesson/introduction_abcs" and check Jimm's tutorial on Github "https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare/wiki/ReplaceMetadata"

What's wrong with your code here is the punctuation "/" in regex gives different results so you'll need to cancel them with "\". I also believe it should be "replace metadata" and not "add to replace metadata", but that part I'm not a 100% sure of.

As for the code, try this, I use similar code and int works fine for me:

 ships=>^Harry Potter\/Severus Snape\/Remus Lupin\/Tom Riddle$=>HPSSLVO, HPSSLVRL

I know it works in Brave for Windows. Have you checked the browser cache feature FAQ for examples of MacOS Chrome/Chromium browser cache locations to be sure you have the right location? They didn't move it from the default location in Windows, so I don't see them having moved it in MacOS either (I mean, it is possible they did, but not likely).

I commented out the handling of lazy loaded images and got past the issue (since I don't care about images, this works for me).

I am out in the boondocks with very unreliable network right now, so only a short reply:

The regex advice previously proffered looks correct. Also, I agree AO3 tag wrangling is basically a lost cause as a general problem.

KeyError: 'data-src' was a site change that has been fixed in the test version and the last released version. Assuming it isn't a new problem; my network isn't good enough to try downloading large stories to test.
