Hi,
I´m not sure if it´s a FFF or Calibre thing:
When I click on the title or author on the first page of my book (“title_page” in edit book)

the link doesn´t open automatically in my browser anymore.
I have to use “right click - copy link” and then paste it in my browser.

So far, a click on title or author opened the browser directly. Was there a change?

- Make included certifi and requests use same tmp file code and store under calibre tmp dir for cleanup.

@bigwoof's report pointed out that the certifi code wasn't doing what I thought it did and was, in fact, creating a new copy of the cacert.pem in a tmp file every time it was called.

Which lead me to look around a little more and realize that the requests.extract_zipped_paths() code extracted a data file once, but then never updated it. Ever. It would only get replaced if cleaned out of tmp. Which is an obscure bug just waiting to happen some day.

Now both temp files are created under Calibre's tmp dir and will therefore be refreshed each time Calibre is restarted.

I have no idea if it will help with the "Could not find a suitable TLS CA certificate bundle" reports, but we can hope.

No change to that code in FFF. Although, it is customizable; so I can't promise you didn't change it.

Clicking those links in Calibre GUI reader works fine for me. In Edit Book, I now have to right-click->Open link.

I only mentioned "edit book" to clarify which page I meant. That it´s not the cover page but title page with all the infos I can choose in personal.ini

Can you tell me where I can customize it in the viewer? I am not aware of having changed anything like that.

I meant customized FFF output. It would be in your FFF personal.ini. See the CustomOutput wiki page.

I've no idea what customizations exist in the Calibre viewer.

Since you already know how to use Edit Book, can't you just look at the source and tell if the title/author links are still there?

Or if not, if you can get me a copy of your epub, I can look at it and tell you for sure if the links are still there. Please don't post NSFW stuff here, though.

The link is still there.
It´s just that instead of using the link in title direct to open in a browser
I have to use "right click" on the title - which opens the menu in viewer


- and then use "copy link" and then paste it manually in browser.


If I click on the title it just flashes briefly instead of opening in a browser.

No idea what happened but after restarting my PC it works again as before.
Click on title or author opens direct in browser.

Edit: Just tested it and it works really well! Thanks for moving both the certifi's cert.pem use and the cloudscraper user agent json file into the fanficfare_files temp directory..

Short answer: your versions of both FFF and Calibre are out of date. Since you're here anyway, I suggest the test version of FFF, see my sig for link.

I am not sure if I have missed something, I was able to download from Storiesonline, then suddenly I was getting "None of the 1 URLs/stories given can be/need to be downloaded.
and when I go into the log I have this;

Manually open StoriesOnline in a browser and login to the account you are using (all of them if you're using more than one). Select the classic theme (the one that the plugin is designed to read). Recently SOL has an update that forces you to select a theme, and I was getting that before I selected a theme. THe plugin can't get to the actual story until you do (thus the error).

Also make sure you have updated your FFF plugin.

I'm unsure if it's an issue with Cloudscraper or if FFNet made a change at some point, but I've noticed several fics from this author downloading the author image (6472517) as the cover.
