When I first bought Mantano, the app opened up to the bookshelf. I liked that, but it now opens up to the advertisement for the cloud thing and also, for some reason, it complains that I need an internet connection. Is there a setting to automatically skip all that and just have the app open directly to the bookshelf?

Mine (Premium) also doesn't open to the Store (New & Noteworthy) page. Mine consistently opens to the "Currently Reading/Recently Added" page (or the last read point in the current book I'm reading if the app is still running in the background, of course). I remember seeing the Store (New & Noteworthy) page a long time ago, but I don't recall doing anything special to dismiss it. I can live with the "Currently Reading/Recently Added" shelf (and actually prefer it when my shelf is crowded). They're still my books after all, and it's easy to get to the full shelf from there if needed. |

I can live with it, too, but I don't like it. The app used to open to the list of titles with the collections bar on the left. This is the interface that I actually use and it bugs me to have to drill down to it every time I start the app. It probably wouldn't bother me as much if it had always been that way, but the bookshelf screen is already close to the optimal interface. I don't understand the decision to put a worse one in front of it with no apparent way to get rid of it, when the app is otherwise so customizable. |

I understand wanting to be taken directly to the main bookshelf interface, though. If I had a ton of books and collections set up, I'd feel the same way. But I really don't use its library management features at all. It only ever has a handful of books I haven't read yet in it. Last edited by DiapDealer; 04-19-2016 at 10:18 AM. |

Your opening page is a lot different than mine. I wonder why? Is there a separate phone/tablet UI I wonder (assuming yours is a phone, but I'm not really sure)?

Looks like some people are getting different formats of the "same" version! |

Mine is the same version/build number. If you're seeing Scroll and Crop perhaps you're reading a PDF not an EPUB. Theme may be an EPUB-only feature.

Although I don't use it myself I believe CC has a rudimentary ability to nest Collections - possibly only down to one level, though. |

That would be my guess, too. I have no PDFs in my library and I've never seen Scroll & Crop entries in the main menu. It also makes sense that you wouldn't be able to "Theme" a PDF.

I use CC as a downloader only and then import the books into Bookari. I only started using Calibre Companion in the first place because Android switched to MTP for file transfer. Before that, I mounted Android devices as USB drives and used Calibre's "connect to folder" functionality. Calibre tags don't have any sort of heirarchy. I can search and sort any number of ways, but the result is flat. |
