Mantano does a good job except in this area and in two column mode.

Hello John,

Thank you for pinpointing this: we will probably work on a design rework of the app soon (no ETA yet), we will take your point into account. Sorry for the trouble.

Got it ! Thanks a lot, I feel stupid. We will update it asap, before trying to find a better tagline.

The Phrase "Together, let's get the most of our readings", by itself is fine, but I think it is wrong in the context it is being used.

The problem I think stems around the use of the word "readings". It's not used commonly in day-to-day english and if frequently used for someone who is going to read something aloud to a group of other people. An example being something read out to people at a funeral or a wedding, such as a section from the bible or a poem.

As this is reading software that will normally be used for a person who is reading to themselves and not out alout to others, it just doesn't feel right.

You could trying something like "Together, let's get the most of our books", as this makes it a bit more understandable. Although this app is aimed at a wider audience than just fiction readers, you might want to find a word other that books that also covers the reference/technical books material as well.

Either that, or try a different phase altogether.

Edit: Just noticed in the phrase that it looks like you are missing a word as well, could do with inserting "out" between "most" and "of". This would read as "Together, let's get the most out of our readings". This then makes my above comments a bit more valid as without the word "out" in the phrase, it doesn't make much sense.

Hi Ingo !

I told the guys to add a tool to allow removing old devices, from the web interface !
This will be out pretty soon (next week I think: we will group this update with other fixes).

Thanks for the reply.

You might consider using the users font and background colors for the menus. When going to a menu when in night mode can be startling.

Regarding the tag line, just dropping the "s" (and inserting "out" as ghostyjack said) would go a long way, "Get the most out of your reading," and "Let's get the most out of our reading together." Referring to "reading" in this general way sounds natural where referring to individual "readings" does not.

It could still use some boiling down--it's wordy and "Get the most out of" is a cliche. Maybe "Read better," and "Read better together." Or put that together as "Read better. Read together." Or stacked

Read better
Read together

There's a little confusion there as to whether "better" is talking about improving the experience or improving the skill of reading, but the confusion is lessened by tying "better" to "together," as above.

I've been exploring Mantano Reader Premium on my rooted Nook ST, and have a problem with user downloaded fonts. The ability to substitute my own font for the default one is useful, but I noticed that the italics are still in the default font. If the chosen font is markedly different than the default one there will be a much different appearance of italic text and regular text. Some users wil find this unsatisfactory.

I don't know if this is something that has changed recently, or just that I hadn't noticed it before, but the date format is incorrect for me in Mantano. My device date format is set to dd/mm/yyyy but Mantano displays dates in mm/dd/yyyy format. Is there a setting to alter this that I have missed somewhere?

Help!
I'm trying to use Mantano Reader for android with one of my ebooks, and don't like all the hyphenated words - apparently Mantano Reader has default on with auto-hyphenate according to some type of hyphenation dictionary. I've searched the user's manual and can't find anything about hyphenate (searched for an index but there is none, and then searched for word hyphen but couldn't find anything in the manual). As far as I can tell there is NO way to shut off auto-hyphenate.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Have you tried this ebook in any other app? Usually over-hyphenation is the book, not the reader app. If the book was once scanned with optical character recognition and dumped into a PDF, hyphens would get inserted at the ends of lines. When that text is converted to epub and reflowed, the hyphens are still there but not at the ends of lines anymore. Mantano would then insert hyphens when it splits a word between lines, plus you'd have all the old hyphens in the middle of lines, so it would look like a mess of hyphens.

What you can do is manually edit the book or find a better copy.

The epub was one I created, and is similar to many others I've posted on MR. Whenever I'm creating an epub from a pdf image scan and FineReader OCR, in my final proofing phase I always eliminate hyphens except for words that clearly should be hyphenated, such as cut-rate. The epub when read with Mantano reader on my rooted Nook ST has numerous (!) hyphenations, but when read on the NST with the native reader (Adobe) or with ADE on my PC these words do not show as hyphenated - thus the hyphens must be Mantano's attempt to equalize line length for justified text.

If anyone from Mantano still reads this thread, is there any hope of ever getting the display of illustrations fixed so they can be resized to fit the screen, or can be scrolled to view the complete image, or preferably both?

make default dictonairy flexible

First of all, compliments for Mantano, by far my favorite reader on my Galaxy Note.
But there is always room for improvement, for instance; the dictionary defaults to 'web based', while I always use 'embedded'.
If that setting would simply be set to last used, or make it a menu preference, it would save button clicking.

I think mine works the way you want it to.

I have Colordict installed and whenever I open the dictionary that's what opens. I'm not sure which Mantano version I have but it is the premium app. I don't think that makes a difference.
