I forgot all about that one!!! A few us inquired about how to get italic/bold to show with custom fonts. Never got an answer. Probably escaped their attention with so much back and forth going on at that time. Things have settled down a bit now. Hope they see this.

Can mantano team put forward new version of reader run on android 2.2 or above. I think the latest adobe mobile engine has some features only available for android 2.2, which greatly improve reading experience, see adobe latest free reader and bluefire reader.

Yeah, I know what you mean. No change in the most recent versions.

I liked the old menu better.

Mantano now has too much white everywhere. It's blinding! I would love a black and green theme or just blacker text it be so much easier on the eyes.

I think My Collections needs to move to top of the filter screen instead having to scroll to the bottom all the time.

The Italics/Bold in custom font is the other issue.

Ability to rename themes once created.

That's pretty much my wishlist.

I also cannot download any books from mt calibre library through OPDS. I set it up and can view my book list, though the parsing of information sucks (tags are not in tags, can't read the publication date properly...) and do not have any book cover appearing.
When I press the epub button, it tells me "download failed".

I was really looking forward to this feature and am waiting for a fix

Also can't connect to calibre—'Loading...', followed by Force Close. Aldiko works fine.

BTW, has anyone discovered a Gutenberg OPDS that works?

Yet Another Request for 'library DRM' support...

I can't connect to Calibre either. Or rather, I connect and can actually pick a book to download, but it won't download. Has anyone actually been able to download anything from calibre yet? I hope this get fixed since this is the one thing left that I want from Mantano!

Nope. I use http://m.gutenberg.org which works in Aldiko but not on Mantano though.

My wishlist is one thing: to have the option to show chapter page # of #, in addition to, or instead of the page # of total book.

Please, please.

Try using http://myipaddress:8080/opds instead. The http://myipaddress:8080/stanza link may be using some deprecated format/entries that are unsupported in Mantano. I'm not exactly sure what formats Mantano supports. ePub and PDF, definitely, but I don't know if it supports any others. If your ebook isn't in a supported format, it's likely showing up in catalog but you might be getting an error when trying to download because there's no compatible format available.

As for covers in Calibre not showing up, the Calibre content server uses the OPDS Catalog 0.9 version of the specifications, I believe.

OPDS Catalog 0.9
cover: http://opds-spec.org/cover
thumbnail: http://opds-spec.org/thumbnail

OPDS Catalog 1.0 & 1.1
cover: http://opds-spec.org/iamge
thumbnail: http://opds-spec.org/image/thumbnail

I'm not sure what the proper solution is in this case - for Calibre to switch to the latest OPDS version or for Mantano to add backwards compatibility.

By the way, is there an option I can enable in Mantano so when I open the app, it would go directly to the location in the last read ebook (kinda like Stanza's Now Reading feature)? If not, I'd like to add that to the feature request.

No but you can add a Shortcut to the book you are reading on your home screen. I just found this out last week and now added an shortcut to each book I am currently reading which makes it easier and faster to get back in.

How are you doing this? Are you long pressing on the home screen and selecting Shortcuts? I'm thinking it doesn't apply to Honeycomb (Android 3.x). Seems we lost the ability to do shortcuts. We only have the option to place the last book read in the notification bar (bottom right of home screen). But this must be selected in Mantano Settings.

Edit: I was wrong. We still have Shortcuts. Just set up a different way now. I now have shortcuts to the books I'm reading. The book covers are tiny (sized for a phone). Wish there was a way to make them bigger for tablets.

How are you doing each of these - I can't figure them out on the Sony.

The shortcut book covers are basically the same size as those shortcuts in the upper left hand corner on the Sony (where the microphone shortcut is). I may just keep going into the app and select "Recently Read". The app icons are bigger. Strange.

Long press on the home screen. The same way you would to change wallpaper or set a widget. Select "More" where the choices are Apps, Widgets, Wallpapers, More. Then select Mantano. The app will open, then navigate to the book you want the shortcut for. You can repeat the steps for different books.
