Congratulations Nyssa! Well read!

I just finished Proven Guilty (for the 2nd time) and very much enjoyed it. I had forgotten just enough that there were some pleasant (and unpleasant) surprises.

JS Wolf, I'm reading the omnibus epub versions and there aren't enough formatting errors for me to notice.

So I'm diving straight back in, to White Night (as opposed to Summer Knight or Empty Night).

Thanks Filark! I enjoyed every page....well almost very page!

I've been reading the Honor Harrington series since then and have still not gotten to the first actual book in the series as yet. With the 5th anthology, Fire Forged, there are now 9 stories before On Basilisk Station.

I'm currently reading the 9th (and longest) story, "Let's Dance".

I'm following the Stories listed by internal chronology section on Wikipedia.

Like I said, 'waaay too complicated'. Good grief, multiple different authors and publication dates all out of logical order, but at least the convoluted mess of C.S. Lewis' Narnia series had only one author! I'm appreciating Jim Butcher's Side Jobs more and more!!

I've been using the same wiki for the HH series. I do need to check out what books I have on my 650 and what I need to either put on and/or buy.

The wiki takes the complication out of it. Just follow it and you'll be good to read.

Empty Night is a Dresden patented swear phrase, as in "Empty Night, Harry, they could have killed us!"

I should look it up and give you an actual quote, but I'm too lazy. I just thought with all the "Nights" and "Knights" floating around and getting confused (Summer Knight/night, White Night/knight) a pseudo-curse with the word "night" in it fit right in.

Also, isn't Empty Night one of the titles Butcher hasn't written yet??? I could be totally wrong here, but without looking it up I thought you (Alan) had told us that was one of the proposed titles of the final trilogy -- or perhaps that was a joke? lol

Yeah, it's not quite as complicated as it looks, even though you do have switch between anthologies. Luckily, I was able to get most of the books for free from the Baen Free Library, and the complimentary CDs that come with some of the later books in the series. My husband has collected all of the novels, except the newest one, in hard cover.
Oh, there's also a site that hosts all of the content from the CDs, with Baen's blessing (according to the site), but I'd have to search for the link, if anyone is interested.

The White Court vamps usually say "empty night!" like Dresden says "stars and stones!".
