I came across this new series seems interesting something similar to Butcher's new series the price is too high for me so I haven't bought it yet. Might buy if have nothing new to read in the next few weeks. The blurb reads like a series I would read.

Thanks for the recommendation, the book looks interesting. But it is, as you said, a bit high-priced for what appears to be a first effort. It also has no paperback edition but has a hardback, also unusual for a first effort.

The lack of paperback would depend on the publication date of the hardcover. Back in the day, hardcover always preceded paperback by at least a few months, and this book just came out a week ago.

I'm not going to look up the scenario of the book just yet, however, because I have a ton of currently owned, and/or started series that I want to get through first, including a reread of Dresden.

New York Times Best Selling author Jim Butcher talks about new book

New York Times Best Selling author, Jim Butcher joined Midday on Thursday.

The fantasy author is in town for Salt Lake Comic Con.

Butcher has a new book entitled the Aeronaut's Windlass coming out on September 29th

He is also known for his fantasy series The Dresden Files and Codex Alera.

The Aeronaut’s Windlass is the first book in the upcoming Steampunk series, The Cinder Spires.

Readers will be entertained with airships, crazy sorcerers, privateers, warrior monks, and intelligent cats.

The story follows a time when an ancient evil has reawakened, and the entire world is plunged into a sinister mist, filled with terrible creatures.
