Jim did such a good job with Rowl.

Who wouldn't love a talking cat?

We all know Jim is a dog lover but he nailed catitude with Rowl. I do not remember reading anything that I thought was out of character for a cat.

He did, he let me remember why I am a dog person and not a cat person. I just don't like their personalities. I do like the character Rowl as a character though. Just not in real life... If that is Rowl in the picture, I wonder who is playing Bridget. I mean, it is a big man and if he has to lie on the shoulders of Bridget...

This book, you guys. This freaking book. SO MUCH LOVE. It is like 60% awesome ladies being awesome and 30% cats being magnificently insufferable and 10% explosions.

The characters are a joy. And the ladies. SO MANY FANTASTIC LADIES. Bridget is amazing: 17 years old, 6'2", built like a cement mixer, capable of hauling around 150lb slabs of meat for funsies, and so socially awkward she prefers the company of cats. Folly is perfection: Completely bonkers, but remarkably intuitive, resourceful, and powerful in her own right. Madame Cavendish is creepy as hell. Calliope is ruthless and inventive. Gwen is super fun when you aren't wanting to smack her in the head with a clue-by-four, and matures considerably. The guys are great, too, but... LADIES.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. PEOPLE NEED TO DRAW FANART ALREADY. READ IT IMMEDIATELY.

Q: Why does Harry keep wearing a hat on the book covers, when in the text of the book Harry keeps talking about how he hates hats?

A: That didn’t really start until Book 8 or 9 or something like that, is when I started making that comment. It was because on Book 7 the Art Department decided that the perfect way to say “Wizard P.I.” was to have the guy with a wizard staff and a P.I. fedora. That it would be the perfect psychological shorthand for “Wizard P.I.” So they directed Chris McGrath to “make it like this.” And Chris, who is a professional artist said, “I will make it like that,” and did so, and fulfilled his commission.

And I didn’t like it. So I got all passive aggressive about it, and started making fun of hats in the books.

So when the new book came out, the steampunk book, Grimm is one of those characters that would never be caught dead without his hat. So of course they draw him with no hat.

Why does the ethersilk extend past the protection of the "force field"? Gotta be something vulnerable in a fight - or the faster ship would always outrun any opponent. Far as we know Predator is the fastest ship - possibly before the upgrades, and for sure after the upgraded crystals.
