I was just looking at Black Rain, thinking of participating in the book club for the first time. But I think I'll wait on the book club, and save the new Faye Kellerman as well, because I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with Harry Dresden and friends.

paulsalter will be reading for the first time while I read for the second. Maybe we can compare notes!

I'm planning to read Small Favor (and the two preceding shorts from Side Jobs) as soon as I finish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. At the rate I'm going, though, that could be longer than I would like.

I finished reading both the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well as viewing the Swedish movie (English dubbed) and The Girl Who Played with Fire and the movie too, earlier today and have so far read 2½ chapters of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest so far. I find them fascinating and cannot put them down.

I actually like the book very much so far (about 40% finished), I think my mind is just distracted by other things at the moment so it's taking me longer than I anticipated. I promised someone I would read it, then he and I are going to watch the Swedish film and then the new US film. I would have read it anyway eventually, just maybe not right now.

Yeah, the TV ads for that new film were what got me started. Actually I streamed the Swedish film from Amazon Prime free streaming first, then began reading the Trilogy.

I liked all 3 books and the Swedish films (there were 2, weren't there?? I forget. ). Haven't seen the U.S. version yet.

Alan, I'm sure you've posted this already, but I'm too lazy to look for it: Do you have the complete list of Dresden novels and short stories in order? I would love to fit the shorter works in their proper places when I read through.

Thank you in advance (now you have to give me the list! ).

Nope, a film for each book.

Yes, but you just need the novels (found here) as the short stories are all in 'Side Jobs' (except for AAAA Wizardry which is listed in the link I provided) and say at the beginning of each story where they fall in the Dresdenverse timeline. IIRC, Nyssa has a complete list with alternate sources for the short stories.

Thank you, thank you!! That is exactly what I wanted!

I was looking at jim-butcher.com, realizing it would be some work to make that list, and I am averse to work! (j/k, sort of . . .) So again, Nyssa and Alan, thank you!

Meanwhile, I can add a bit to the list: "Curses" fits between Small Favor and Turn Coat, and "Even Hand" fits between Turn Coat and Changes. This according to http://www.jim-butcher.com/books/dresden/side-jobs.

Half a novel to read before I start on Harry.

After reading about this series I decided to try it out. And after a couple of pages, I'm already hooked. I absolutely love it so far.
Unfortunately only the first two books are available in Dutch and no English books are available. Good thing I can read English and Kobo sells to the Netherlands.
I'm going to have a lot of fun with this series.
Thanks MR-members for pointing me in this direction
