Jim Butcher on August 3, 2011, at the Cambridge, MA B&N store [a book signing event], said it would be Sept or Oct of 2012 before Cold Days would be out.

No, nothing so sensible. The Dresden Files is the first series of my 2012 Reading Challenge, and I want to be "honest" about it.

Thanks for the info! There's no way I can make myself space out the 4 I have yet to read that far, so I imagine I'll already be impatient for it by the time Spring is here.

That long? Are they having 100 people poring over it looking for typos, one person at a time?

Place yer bets on which already done book will be published first, "Cold Days" or the still to be titled final collaboration between Anne and Todd McCaffrey. (That is, final unless Todd finishes up his mum's post-ninth-Pass Pern book.)

Nothing quite so causative of annoyance towards a publisher as knowing they're sitting on a completed book by a favorite author instead of publishing it NOW. (Especially when the author is deceased and no longer cares about how much money he or she will get from royalties!)

Who said that 'Cold Days' was finished? I certainly haven't and that's because in my looking around I haven't seen Jim saying so.

Patrick Rothfuss did "The Name of the Wind" and "The Wise Man's Fear", both part of a series. Both are excellent books, though Rothfuss does seem to write a bit on the slow side.

I am reading the last book in the Dr. Siri Paiboun series by Colin Cotterill (recommended in another thread by poohbear), then I think I will reenter the world of Harry Dresden. I wonder if I can read straight through the entire series with no other books in between -- might be fun to try!

I re-read the entire series starting on September 16th and finishing on October 25th. When I finished the 13th book I hated having to leave the Dresdenverse behind.

Hi all!

I have read through the entire thread with amusement and interest. I have read all 13 books and also love the TV show. I read the books first, only because I didn't know about the TV show then. I blame my addition to the stories on my little sister.

I'm currently trying to pick my favorite book in the series, but can't. I believe I have to re-read them all.

Hi Ratkity! I have the series on DVD, and I'm going to watch it after I finish Ghost Story. It'll give me something to do while waiting for Cold Days. I haven't watched all the eps since it was aired on SciFi.
