younger and better looking huh? the way you state this makes me think that you don't cast a movie of the book with real actors like i do. the first episode i saw (the pilot, i guess) of tv's castle was the first time i ever saw molly quinn, and she immediately flashed into my brain as molly carpenter. morgan is described as a big and tall blond guy with a pony tail, and qui-gon jin in a grey cloak with a broadsword instead of a lightsabre just roared into my head. as to kincaid, he and marcone will both appear in my next post of a rogues gallery of dresden characters

Would like to get into these books as there seems to be a ton of positive feedback about them around here. I love Scifi Channel but never saw The Dresden Files.

The first book is 11 years old and Amazon (read: Penguin Publishing) wants $10 for it!?!? Along with the rest?!
You can even buy the first 6 books as a bundle for........wait for it............$60!

Although I've only read the first two (but have purchased 3 plus Side Jobs), I have found the books to be well worth the $9.99 price tag. In the case of "If I knew then...and Hindsight is 20/20" a part of me wishes I had gone ahead and purchased the bundle.

here are the points that i noticed when harry described himself in the novels:

dark hair
dark eyes set deep
severe brows
hawkish nose
sharp chin
long face
high cheekbones
straight slash mouth
angular jaw
over six and a half feet tall
lean, thin physique

and is probably why jeff goldblum sprang into my mind when imagining harry's appearance. so as much as i like nathan fillion as an actor (i'm a firefly fan as well as a castle fan, not to mention buffy) he's too handsome, and not tall and thin and dark enough for me to picture him as harry

I'm not sure, i kind of know how the book is going to play out to a certain extent - dresden will meet with both winter and summer fae and that some type of deal will get things rolling. I guess either i'm taking it too slow or this one isn't grabbing me as the others did. I'll continue to read and i think it'll get better because with previous books by the end i was cheering at the awesomeness. I guess that's all i really have to share there wasn't much that i questioned and not much really stood out other than harry always ends up meeting or consorting with people that despise him. the white council, morgan, karrin who does and doesn't believe him at times...it's just frustrating but i know it's also part of the story and why you end up cheering for harry in the end. not so much a spoiler i guess.

I just signed up to take part in the Dresden Files challenge over at GoodReads. If this year has taught me anything, its to not try and artificially break up my series reading. So, Dresden gets the first spot(s) in 2012. I hope to buy books 4 and 5 before the end of this year.

Its exactly what you did...reading the entire Dresden Files series in a certain period of time. Dresden Files Challenge. we have 2 or 3 other challenges going on as well, and you can make requests/suggestions for new ones withing the Mobilread group.
