just started reading The Case of the Toxic Spell Dump by Harry Turtledove. the writing reminds me of 60's heinlein

well scratch the above (The Case of the Toxic Spell Dump by Harry Turtledove), i got into it a short way and was never grabbed by anything substantial to care about. so i put it aside and began reading Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding. it seems to be a whole lot more more in the vein of what attracts me to a book/author, at least so far

any dresden files discussions to start, comments to comment on, spoilers to post (hidden in a spoiler box)....

Hmm... That book cover looks like it could have been made for the RPG;
"Ego Draconis". The hero doesn't learn how to become a dragon, when he wants,
does he?

I never considered listing Caliber as a reader but I guess technically it does count. I would never use it as such, though.

LOL I don't know if that's a record, but the Literati is more trouble than it's worth, the Pandigital is gathering dust in my roommate's room (though I charge it and check it every so often) and the Duo hasn't actually been delivered yet. I'm just really excited about getting it so I went ahead and put in on there.

I wanted something ultra-portable but fully-functioning and with a touchscreen, and the Duo fits that bill. It counts as an ereader because it will be the primary reader (in tablet mode) for my collection of pdf tech manuals and such. The first thing I'm going to do is a clean Win7 install and install Ubuntu alongside of it.

It will also replace the overloaded clipboard that holds the lyric sheets on the mic stand in my studio.

And it's neat enough to be called a toy, and I like toys.

Without counting that one, I still have 5 - my Android phone isn't listed. I have K4PC on it.

i agree, which is why i said 5 readers not 6. calibre is not intended to be a reader, but does include a viewer. i believe that kovid made that distinction for just that reason

I haven't touched my two Palms since getting my Epic 4G. Higher resolution, more storage and seems to support Unicode so I don't have to do anything to books so they'll display without funky characters.

I can't believe no one called me out on saying I had K4PC on my PHONE. I feel silly. I obviously meant the Android app. **sigh** Sometimes I wonder where my head is at.

But, good news - the Duo shipped and should be at my house tomorrow!! Yay!!
