Secondly, do I need to remove the # to all of browser_cache_path or only to one? |

I downloaded it, but for some reason it keeps opening tabs while the fic downloads. Do you have any ideas about what might be causing this?

yes. If any line is commented, it isn't used. You also need to make sure it's the right path; unless your username is literally 'myname' fix that.
EDIT: Missed a page ![]() |

Still getting a "Page not found or expired in Browser Cache" error suggests that you may still not have browser_cache_path pointed at the correct cache directory. Or some other random problem. It doesn't work 100% of the time. Honestly, I don't really recommend FanFicFare for fanfiction.net for new users anymore. As you are finding, it has to be setup precisely and even then is rather inconvenient to use. You might consider something like WebToEpub or fanfictiondownloader.net instead. |

New Test Version Posted
2023-10-22 - Retry Calibre metadata update when it fails due to conflicting program(Windows File Explorer) Don't if anyone else has seen it lately, but I've continued to bump into the problem where Calibre's metadata update fails simply because Window File Explorer is also open. Not open in the library, just open to some random dir(s) else where on disk. To the best of my knowledge, Kovid ruled this the correct behavior. I've added a retry to FFF on metadata update failure that first warns you: "FanFicFare will try to update metadata again once. Close any interfering programs (such as Windows File Explorer) before closing this dialog." |

Downloading from AO3 without tags
Hello, sorry in advance for what I'm sure is a very obvious question: I'm new to this and very confused. I have set up the personal.ini to log me into AO3 and successfully download, however I don't want my Calibre tag field populated with the AO3 tags (which are often useless). Can someone help me turn that feature off?
Again, thanks so much |

Code:
[archiveofourown.org] ## AO3 doesn't have anything it calls 'genre'. The adapter used to be ## hardcoded to include the site specific metadata freeformtags & ## ao3categories in the standard metadata field genre. By making it ## configurable, users can change it. include_in_genre: freeformtags, ao3categories |

Plugin seems to work as expected in Calibre 6.99! I sucessfully opened the configuration and successfully updated a story.

FYI, it looks like ffnet's notification emails aren't going out.
There's a reddit thread about it but nothing useful from ffnet themselves. |

Is there a way to block images from a specific domain? One fic I downloaded recently has a bunch of dead tinypic images, I manually removed then but it'd be nice to avoid that in the future.
