I already hate that I added support for this site. It's very inconsistent apparently. The first story has multiple authors and thus a pretty different HTML layout, the second one doesn't have a "last-updated date" which was my oversight. I'll take a look at these when I get time.

While running some tests, I've found that the following sites are not working due to server issues:

• thequidditchpitch.org (domain parked)
• devianthearts.com (server not found)

I'll check them again in a few days, but they're still down, I'll be removing these sites from FanFicFare.

If anybody knows anything about those sites moving or ending, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

- Move site ninelives.dark-solace.org to new domain ninelivesarchive.com while still accepting old URLs.
- Remove thequidditchpitch.org, domain is parked.
- Change site www.nickandgreg.net to www.nickngreg.nl while still accepting old URLs.
- Add check for non-existance/removed story to potterfics.com.
- Fixes for hpfandom.net changes.
- Strip leading/trailing single or double quotes from chapter URLs XenForo Base. Author typo fix.

Having problems downloading the following story from spacebattles

The author mistakenly used a URL directly to 'reply' instead of to the post for one 'chapter'. I've posted a new test version (direct link) with both a specific workaround and a generic workaround feature (continue_on_chapter_error).

- base_xenforoforum: Workaround for when author uses reply URL instead of post URL, continue_on_chapter_error feature, remove 'Story' in front of 'Thread' in title.

Hi Jimm,

I'm currently playing with custom_columns_settings. and have a request.

i have a column called readpriority, for new books this is always "med" so I've set up as below. i will then manually prioritize this based on how often the author updates

custom_columns_settings:
"Med"=>#readpriority,n

if the book I'm adding (or updating) however is Status:complete i want to change this field to be "Finished", otherwise i want to leave the value as what is in there

Any idea's how i can do this?

There isn't any mechanism built in to custom_columns_settings to conditionally set columns based on value.

However, you can use replace_metadata, which does have conditional capabilities to create a value that can be set in custom_columns_settings. It is a tad complex.

[defaults]
## Add an additional valid metadata entry to use.  Name 'priority' isn't 
## special.
## Use 'add_to_' because many sites have their own extra_valid_entries.
add_to_extra_valid_entries:,priority

## Copy title to priority.  Could be any metadata that's always

custom_columns_settings:

This would be a bit less completed if there weren't a small handful of sites that can have a status other than In-Progress or Completed. But there are.

- Add Background Metadata feature during Updates. When updating/overwriting existing books, there's now an option to Collect Metadata from sites in a Background process.

This returns control to you quicker while updating, but you won't be asked for username/passwords or if you are an adult--stories that need those will just fail.

Only available for Update/Overwrite of existing books in case URL given isn't canonical or matches to existing book by Title/Author.

This is a feature that's been requested in past, but I'd been reluctant for fear of it being abused. So don't get too carried away with updates.

Hello! The Nine Lives Archive which used to be at http://ninelives.dark-solace.org/ has moved to its own domain now. The new address is http://ninelivesarchive.com/.

Would it be possible to update FFF to the new address? Everything seems the same as far as the structure of the site goes. Sorry for the trouble! I had no idea that they were planning a move. Thank you so much for everything you do!
