I think the answer to this one is going to be no, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Would it be possible to add the Sylum Manor Archive? It is password protected, but the format is the same as ksarchive.com

It might be, but not if you don't even include the URL...

Googling for "Sylum Manor Archive", the first link isn't a fanfic site, and I don't obviously see one in the first page of results.

Even though this site is on the list, it can't find the stories when I insert an URL.

I have a fix for this, but I have something else I'm also looking into. I plan to have a new test version later today.

Sorry - I must have deleted that part of the message, I was in a bit of a hurry when I wrote it.

(FYI, I did try updating the embedded BeautifulSoup and html5lib--not only did they not fix the problem, they caused other problems. So no updates.)

The site is 'password protected' by an HTTP auth user/pass instead of the usual eFiction user/pass.

So you were right the first time--the answer is 'no' because that alone means it would need extra new code.

(And the site doesn't even tell you what it's for... )

Hi. Recently you fixed the growing white space problem at the beginning and end of chapters when updating. This is great. The only problem I have is that it removes the line I DO want there.

I have an empty line at the top of the page, between the closing title tag (not title, actually but the </h3> tag) and the first <div....> tag. I have that there for clarity when editing, but it keeps getting removed now. I can do a general S&R to replace it, as I was doing to remove the excess before, but I figured I'd check see if anything can be tweaked on your end first -- or if you can suggest a tweak I can add to personal.ini to take care of it.

Not a big deal, but can't hurt to ask, the worst you can say is no!

@MerlinMama - I don't see that using the default settings.

But I do see it using custom chapter_start settings, so I assume that you are using those.

The INI config parser strips off trailing whitespace automatically whether we want it to or not. I've worked around it for a few other parameters by explicitly replacing \s with space once it's in my code. However, I can't do that for all parameters because it can be a legitimate part of a path or a regex.

I'll think about it a bit, but I don't expect to have any brainstorms. In the meantime, you could add something to the end of chapter_start to separate the title from the chapter text.

Oh, yes, I completely forgot I am using custom chapter-start settings. I'll follow your suggested modif. and I'm sure that'll do me fine!

Edited: I added %(newline)s after my </h3>, since I already had that defined for my custom title_page settings. I tested it out and it works like a charm for me. Thanks for reminding me and sorry for bothering you!

The way spoilers from the base_xenforoforum sites come out in ebook was bugging me. And rather than come up with one fix, I made three.

The CSS way is the least intrusive; legend_spoilers changes the HTML and uses a nice looking trick I first saw in Who Needs Enemies; remove_spoilers removes them outright.

And using story URL INI sections, you can change the settings for individual stories.
