there is a button on the eink side which is normally used to change between the journal and the reader. This is what he calls "ereader app switcher key". If you activate this option everytime you press this button the LCD will be copied to the eink.

3.check"Use Wacom Pen Input";
4.use wacom pen on eink to operate app on tablet(you can even draw in this way)

lcd2eink 0.1.6 released.
added feature:calibration function and hopefully the "map wacom pen event to tablet" can work on EE. There is an app called "Scribble" which uses real pressure sensitivity for drawing.

lcd2eink 0.1.7 released.
added feature:long press app switch key to turn on/off the backlight of lcd.check "Capture after Pen Up" to trigger screen dump after wacom pen up.(In this way I can turn a page with a wacom pen swipe on eink and waiting for the updated display without having to press the app switch key)

lcd2eink 0.1.8 released.
added feature:avoid the "screen dump" toast.sorry it doesn't expedite the dump.

lcd2eink 0.1.9 released.
3.check "Use Reader Page Keys" to use page keys to turn page for some reader app on lcd(such as kindle),this only works when "Use Reader App Switcher Key" is also checked;
4.press "Rotate Reader Screen Horizontally" will rotate the reader screen in landscape to 180 degree.one more press will rotate it back.
the "screen dump" toast is back,as I found some bug in the way I used to avoid the toast,and I can't fix that bug yet.

Is this a hardware button? Mine doesn't seem to have one :/

Yes. it is a hardware button. the one that have a sign of a double headed arrow

Got it! The curvy line with the two arrows. I've never used the journaling before (I've only had the PE a few weeks, and my EE is being used task-specific as a music reader) so I hadn't gotten to know what that was.

Hmm, this is at the same time less and more than I hoped for. I figured when I got the device (once woot delivers) I wouldn't be able to use the e-ink display, but I was heartened to see this software. On the other hand, looking at the source code, it was done in a very android way (pushing an intent with a screencap) instead of direct hardware access. Has anyone checked what package handles the vnd.entourage.book/book VIEW intent?

Any particular reason that you think you won't be able to use the e-ink screen?

I use it for reading, making notes on service manuals and checking the layout of the epubs we produce.

If you want to program the e-ink screen to do do/be something other than what it was designed for then you are out of luck - entourage never released an SDK.

I installed the latest version, but every time it refreshes the page it captures the superuser message or the arrow from the LCD tablet pointing at the ereader screen so there are artifacts obscuring the page text.

I also could not get the rotation to work properly without manually clicking on "view -> rotate" on the ereader screen.

Overall, this is nice, but buggy.

Also, how do I turn off the tablet screen while reading without exiting the reading app (Kindle in this case)?

I finally got this app working, and wow - really cool.

Firstly, I had to disable the notifications for Super User because inevitably they would get captured and transferred over.

Then I discovered that you can turn off the tablet screen only if the PE is folded back on itself. That's pretty nifty.

It worked great with the Kindle App last night until it started capturing before it would turn the page, but I was about to go to bed anyway.

WOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AWESOME APP!

I have been following this thread for a while and finally installed the app (0.1.9). This is just amazing. Thanks javese for all the good work and to all who contributed ideas to refine the app. An unexpected benefit of the app is that it let's you play sudoku outdoors :-)

EDIT: after installing 0.1.10 page turn does not work in kindle app.
