I can add an option for that if needed though it will take some work.And there is an other concern,that is press the left/right button will cause a blink on eink before the screen dump.Could you try it with release 0.1.5 and make sure that you will still want that feature even with the blink? I really don't want to create something that nobody needs.

Hi javese,
I tried version 0.1.5 and it is right what I wanted. Works perfectly with the kindle app. The blink is unimportant.

lcd2eink 0.1.9 released.
added features:
1.page keys on reader can be used to turn page for some reader app on lcd(such as kindle);
2.can rotate the reader screen in landscape to 180 degree.someone may want this feature so he can use the device like a laptop with eink display and lcd keyboard.this feature deserves a stand-alone app but as it also needs root privilege,I'd save the bother and add it into lcd2eink as a feature.
other change:
the "screen dump" toast is back,as I found some bug in the way I used to avoid the toast,and I can't fix that bug yet.


how to use:
1.install lcd2eink;
2.launch lcd2eink;
3.check "Use Reader Page Keys" to use page keys to urn page for some reader app on lcd(such as kindle),this only works when "Use Reader App Switcher Key" is also checked;
4.press "Rotate Reader Screen Horizontally" will rotate the reader screen in landscape to 180 degree.one more press will rotate it back.

I have a question. I noticed that on the EE when the program dumps the LCD content on the eink the resolution seems to be noticeable lower (something that I don't notice on the PE). Is the resolution of the pdf that you create something that can be adjusted?

For EE,the resolution of eink(1200 x 825) is much higner than lcd( 1024 x 600) ;as for PE, the resolution of eink(800x 600) is similiar to lcd( 800x 480).That might be the reason why that on the EE when the program dumps the LCD content on the eink the resolution seems to be noticeable lower.

But first, what does this root do anyway. Im still a nono, but i like it more and more to experiment a bit.

When it loads it does not ask for superuser as the PE does, and none of the menus work.

Javese> anyluck you could have an app like a wordprocessor with full keyboard on lcd and display text in e-ink. I love picsel office and thumb keyboard....

ok, I rooted my PE...installed lcd2eink 1.9...but I'm having a hard time understanding how this works. What is an "reader app switcher key"? I'm going through the thread trying to understand all the parts, but I got lost at the 2nd one so following all the different parts has gotten difficult. Here's what I've got, if someone could explain what they mean in really simple language, I'd really appreciate it

"automatic mode" is added in this version.when "automatic mode" is on,it will check the lcd display every 5 seconds .if the display has been changed since last capture,a new capture will be made automatically.

how to use lcd2eink 0.1.2:
3.remap volume up key to search key;
4.long press voume up key will trigger a screen dump;

lcd2eink 0.1.3 released.
added feature:use reader app switcher key to trigger a capture.

lcd2eink 0.1.4 released.
added feature:can set autofresh interval.(will go into effect only after you press "done" in the soft keyboard after inputting new interval).
bug fix:if you exit the app with "Use Reader App Switcher Key" checked, pressing app key will trigger 2 captures when you launch the app next time.

lcd2eink 0.1.5 released.
3.check"Use Wacom Pen Input";
4.use wacom pen on eink to operate app on tablet(you can even draw in this way)

added feature:calibration function and hopefully the "map wacom pen event to tablet" can work on EE. There is an app called "Scribble" which uses real pressure sensitivity for drawing.

added feature:long press app switch key to turn on/off the backlight of lcd.check "Capture after Pen Up" to trigger screen dump after wacom pen up.(In this way I can turn a page with a wacom pen swipe on eink and waiting for the updated display without having to press the app switch key)

I assume you rooted EE with z4root. What menus? the checkboxes? You should try calibrating first.
