If you are on anything above 5.16.2.1.1 you won't be able to use anything at this moment since the kindles have switched to armhf and all the jailbreak binaries will need to be recompiled

Uhm... Not sure I get this... JB on my kindle looks to have been installed successfully, why they should be recompiled? Oh, never mind, I'm sure I wouldn't understand an explanation, but you might tell me this: shall we go through the jb process again after they will be recompiled? Apart from that, I kept doing some tests, and so I tried Jose's suggestion, I put Coplate's KUAL and Niluje's hotfix in the mrpackages directory and started mrpi. So I can confirm that the "Failed to remount ro" is not a showstopper, apparently: I received it both for the hotfix and for KUAL, but the hotfix script showed an "Install successful" before the bomb picture... While KUAL script still failed immediately, as it did before. PS: I am not above 5.16.2.1.1 ... In fact, I am below (5.16.2.1). However, KUAL installation doesn't work either Last edited by Ruskie_it; 11-03-2023 at 04:32 PM. Reason: Added Post scriptum |

Anyways, as you're the expert... we should wait for recompiled binaries, right? |

This didn't make much sense to me: why install Niluje's hotfix if an hotfix had already been installed right after the jb? And what has the jb to share with KUAL? I tried it anyway, put both the packages in mrpi folder, and MRPI as usual started to process the packages one after the other. First it processed the hotfix and... it worked. It gave the checkmark and the "Success" message, but it also said "Failed to mount rootfs in RO". It then processed KUAL and.. the usual error: the immediate "Failed (127)" when running install.sh and then the warning "Failed to mount ...." So apparently Niluje's hotfix was installed successfully. I have no way to verify though, as it does not produce any visible effect. While KUAL booklet didn't, and I can prove it because there is no booklet showing in the library |

Thanks for the clarification! Looks like we are in the same spot. Now that you mentioned, I did install Niluje's hot fix and it did work, but there is no way with KUAL

@trincheta, @Ruskie_it
I have accidently gotten a solution. Copy both Update_KUALBooklet_d0eb25b_install.bin and Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_d0eb25b_install.bin to folder "mrpackages", and run ;log mrpi. Then KUAL should be successfully installed. The version of MR installer should be r19293, and Kual should be coplate. Good luck. |

Thanks for everything ,
I installed KUAL and everything is fine, but when I want to transfer a book I need to exit KUAL to transfer books. Is there a way to transfer books without going back to the stupid main Kindle interface? |

And they both fail, one after another. Then UI reboot and I am left with a KPPMainAppV2_1993_031-juno_whatever crash log in the list. No luck. But if it didn't work for me, it shouldn't work for you either: most likely the solution lies in something else that you tried before that... What else did you try before this attempt? |

One question, how did you manage to downgrade the firmware, after these tests?
