thanks Frenzie, I've read the github thread but it's beyond me. I don't even know how to export the crash log on that "Bomb" page. I'll try to update again when 2019.10 comes out, and if I get the same error, I'll report

another question that is probably just due to the exotic or obsolete formatting of an epub. I'm giving you two screenshots, one from Sigil, the other from the epub reader of calibre. Parts of the text are inserted as non-OCR'd image files which I cannot extract as the file type is *.svg - I've never come across this before. The koreader or the firefox epub plug-in or the FBreader cannot display those images at all, so I get an incomplete text. I've manually corrected this by downloading screenshots, OCR'ing them and inserting the text into Sigil. Any ideas?

There must be something more about the images or the EPUB than just containing SVG images. KOReader and Firefox support displaying those. Incidentally, if you long-press on the document in the file manager you can choose "open with" to see how the MuPDF EPUB renderer handles your file.
Is the EPUB in question available for free? |

MuPDF seems to have a problem with the width and height attributes.
For crengine (or rather nanosvg) comments are a known problem. That might be it, since there are a lot of them in the SVG files. |

I'm happy with my partly repaired version of the Sait Faik epub, now I know what to look for if this occurs again. Thanks for the info

Hi,
I have 2 questions, could you please have a look: 1. I wonder if there is any way to copy fb2 books to koreader (kobo glo hd) without connecting it to computer via cable? I mean, is it possible to send ebook to koreader wireless? For example, I can download fb2 on my smartphone, but cannot send it to my kobo glo (hd). 2. Is there any similar funclionality on koreader such as Kindle`s sendtokindle? Say, on sendtokindle, when you read article you can just click a button on browser, an this article will be sent to kindle device. It is very convenient. Thank you for your work. Best regards, |

1. Yes, there's a built-in SSH server. See https://github.com/koreader/koreader...thout-password
2. I don't know how that sendtokindle thing works, but the Wallabag plugin should provide something equivalent based on your description. There's a free service available at https://framabag.org/ |

I've had some crashes with a pdf scan I made myself, but I couldn't detect a pattern and it was the first time, so I'll observe it a bit further. However, when I started to read this pdf from archive.org (cleaned up and OCR'd by myself), reading in landscape mode was impossible because of too long lines) and when I switched the reflow on, it was like a miracle, and I don't think any other reader can perform this: Reflow in the original font, portrait mode, and the images resized to fit the screen width!

Although to be fair, if you preprocess the PDF with K2pdfopt then any PDF viewer will give you the same result.

What I do with the pdf's that my kobo has trouble opening (either too dark background or the MRC compression), is: extract all pages as jpg's, or use the raw images from archive.org, crop them and clean them up with ScanTailor and then reassemble and OCR them with Acrobat Adobe Pro DC, which gives a file size of about 20 MB for a 300 pp. book. Then I read the pdf in landscape mode, no reflow.

Yup, ScanTailor's excellent. Incidentally I wrote a little script to assist myself with that kind of workflow: https://github.com/Frenzie/readablepdf
