Hi there,
Is it possible to give me an image of the SD card for Kobo Glo?
My kobo glo is stuck at the setup level (can't do wifi setup cause it fails after entering SSID and the pc doesn't recognize the kobo nor the sd card...)

I have sent you a PM with the link to the image, but, I don't think you need it. And, you will still have a problem.

The issue is probably that the device is not able to connect to the Kobo servers because the firmware is to old. Early last year, Kobo removed support from their servers for older security protocols. This was because they are no longer considered to be secure. If you are on an older firmware, such as after a factory reset , the firmware only supports these older protocols and cannot connect to the Kobo server.

You can get around this by using the Kobo desktop application. This still supports these device. They will do the setup and install the latest available firmware. Alternatively, you can manually install a firmware version that has the newer security protocols. That means using firmware version at least 3.19. You can do this before doing the setup.

It could be that the WiFi configuration is broken. A factory reset usually solves that. But, after that, or using the image, you will be back in the above situation for doing the setup.

And also, if anyone knows why the backlight does not work on kobo-update-4.19.14123 firmware? I tried to return to kobo-update-2.1.5 firmware and got bootloop.

I can't help there. The light in my Glo stopped working a long time ago. The LEDs failed somehow as I was able to another Glo to test. I doubt it is a general firmware issue as I don't remember seeing an complaints. I think I have seen comments that the light is working on the Glo with 4.19 and later.

Did you do a factory reset? Just installing the 2.1.5 update package over 4.19 is not likely to work. A factory reset should work, but there will be issues doing the update.

Exclamation Skip registration on Glo (on lastest firmware)
Hi

I wish to ask if anyone can help me with skipping registration for the Glo. I have successfully skipped registration for my mom's Kobo Clara. It was easy copy and paste the sql code by grabbing the code from here.

However, I tried a couple of the sql codes I found in this forum but it comes with an error

"... has 26 columns but you give 5 values"

I have no idea what this mean? is it because of the latest firmware on my Glo (4.22.15190)?
Any help with a new sql command code to copy and paste would be appreciated.
