Well, with today's question--2 different devices (ipad and PC), 4 different browsers, and the contest will not accept the correct answer. It recognizes the 3 that are incorrect and says they are incorrect, but clicking on the correct one results in nothing.

Still, I think this is the fastest the contest has locked up. Must be some kind of a record.

Any Canadian lawyers around? The contest T&C say:

I wonder if it is possible to make a complaint to Ontario police/government dept/whoever? Or would that only be possible for Canadian citizens?

One contest with a glitch - well, it happens. But three? And no response from the company - that's not so good.

(I'm guessing that there is nothing we can do due to the 'Limitations of Liability' section - unless the laws of Ontario/Canada say differently.)

I'm not so sure that contest@kobo.com is the best address to use. I sent a complaint yesterday and have had no response at all.

Today, I sent a complaint to feedback@kobo.com and have had an acknowledgement within 15 minutes.
OK, it only says that the email has been received and that I can expect a response in 24-48 hours but that's more than I got from yesterday's email.

Ah, Kobo. In addition to the broken contest, I've got two open tickets with them and my emails go unanswered. One is in regard to a book that would never open (it also showed as having a total of 29 pages - the hardcover has 472, so that's a miracle of compression.) I hoped it would be fixed; instead Kobo no longer sells it, which I think is a tacit recognition that the file was corrupted. But it's not as if that resulted in an automatic refund, which is essentially dishonest.

The other is in regard to the Visa Checkout promotion. I spoke to a rep several days ago who said the credit would hit my account within another day. Hahahaha. No further contact, although I've followed it up with an email. This one's annoying in that I wouldn't have bought the qualifying book if not for the promotion.

A final observation: before the contest broke, I got several 30% codes and a couple of 35% codes, nothing better. The problem is that even at 35% off at Kobo, the books I want are cheaper at Amazon. And much less work if something goes wrong, which it doesn't.
