Oh Susan, what a disappointment to miss out on receiving the major prize after you'd won it!! (What are the odds on winning the Major Prize, and then not being able to claim it? I'm not statistically inclined but I suspect that the odds are very high indeed!)

Forty-eight hours does seem a tad quick to have to respond; gee and I don't think that Kobo advise on their Contest Rules page that if you're a Grand Prize winner you've got only 48 hours to respond after being notified. Next Contest I'll have to check that out.

Yes, I've received the $5 in my account, but from memory it took longer than half an hour. If it doesn't turn up I think your sister will have to ring Kobo. What a pity, eh.

Its by no means a smooth road getting the prizes out of Kobo but perseverance pays off and you do get them. Eventually.
I agree about the perseverance. I won an H2O recently and it took a good 2 months of emails to get the thing shipped!

It took somewhere between 24 - 72 hours, I checked after a day, but forgot to check again until day three and it was there.

Not quite a coupon, but hopefully this is okay here.

Didn't see this posted here, but Kobo is having a "Use Visa Checkout, get a $10 credit" thing going on (ends the 30th). (Details here)

I tested it out. Bought an Open Road classic with a coupon from the front page (Kobo2015) to test it out back on Saturday and today my Kobo account had the $10 in it!

Not sure what countries this is applicable in, but worth a look.

Just saw that I had received the $10 Visa Checkout credit too! Although the Visa Checkout itself didn't work quite as I thought it would. I figured it was like Paypal where payment is just transferred to them. However, Kobo actually stored the card I used. So I guess it's just so you don't have to dig out your cc and enter it at a merchant where you don't have payment info already saved.

How have folks been getting the Visa checkout to work? I already have a Visa Checkout account, same email address and info as the Kobo account I'm trying to get it to work with, and I'm in an endless exercise in frustration (yes, I know this is Kobo...but still would like to get the credit):

1) Find book.
2) Hit "Buy Now"
3) No stored credit card, so screen appears offering to let me enter credit card info or select Visa Checkout - I select that and then hit the blue Visa Checkout button that appears at the bottom
4) Sends me to a pop-up where I can sign in to Visa Checkout; my email address is already pre-populated
5) Enter password and hit "sign in" button
6) Another pop-up screen which has a big yellow "Continue" button, which says it will take me to Kobo to complete my purchase. I hit this button
7) I am taken to the normal checkout screen, with the green buttons at top and bottom, both of which say "Complete Purchase". These look like the normal buttons, and not like the different purplish "Place Order" button shown in the instructions from the email about the offer that Kobo sent me.
8) No credit card shows up, and I have zero store credit balance. I hit "Complete Purchase" and get "Oops! Something went wrong. Please review your payment information and try again."
9) Click out of that screen and my credit card is now populated in the field.
10) Try again, still doesn’t work.
11) Delete card out and repeat. Still doesn’t work

I’ve also tried different browser, different credit card (both that I’ve tried are good, and still working at other sites), now going nuts, and hoping someone can spot where it’s going wrong…any help gratefully received…

SOmeone else I know was trying this--do you maybe have to buy a book to GET the credit?

Of course, it could just be broken. I couldn't get to the rules today and I was trying to read through them to help my other friend sort the problem.

Yes, you have to buy the book using Visa Checkout in order to get the credit, which is what sufue is trying to do and having fail.

That's weird.

Have you tried going directly to VISA checkout's site and entering your card information there - then going to Kobo to purchase?

Sorry, I was confused. My friend was trying to see if she got the credit to BUY the buy just by going to visa checkout and I told her that I was pretty sure you had to buy at least ONE book and THEN you see the credit. I still can't get to the rules.
