Kobo has a number of magazines on sale, annual subscriptions for as low as $5. Are they downloadable and readable on non-Kobo eInk readers (probably not, it only shows readable on the kobo IOS/Android/tablet apps)? Do the monthly issues stay in your library forever, or do they disappear?

I can only answer about Kobo library. Not everything stays there forever (or even a more reasonable/shorter term). Download ASAP. I've had trouble downloading purchased books before.

I'm concerned that magazine issues might disappear after a month when the new one is released, especially if you can only read it on a phone/tablet app. At least with my B&N magazines, I can archive the issues and they stick around.

It's not happening to me. The "Buy Now" box is right where it has always been. I'm using Firefox 38.0 on a netbook running Ubuntu.

Have you figured out a fix yet? Nothing I've tried has worked and I just contacted Kobo CS. Hope they get back to me with a solution before the codes are defunct.

I believe they discontinued gift cards due to the new regulations in the US. Each state has its own laws regarding their purchase and redemption. Some statutes require name and address other have expiration and fee limitations, etc.

Don't know all the reasons. I know they had problems with them. I asked the associates guy about getting a gift card and they do want to have gift cards, but they have to overcome some issues. From what I recall, they are working on having them again someday.

I use Firefox and was able to multi tab. Gisu29 was kind enough to send me a code. I spent nearly 7 hours in the ER getting diagnosed with Bronchitus last night/this morning; and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the books I got to read while I wait the three days for the medication to kick in!!

It seems to be working with IE 11 now, although not exactly smoothly. It loads the page with both boxes, then flashes and removes both boxes, and then flashes again and puts both of them back. I didn’t go through with a purchase so can’t guarantee that nothing weird would happen. It is Kobo after all.

I’m feeling mildly annoyed with Kobo today. Someone posted that when they’d reported the latest contest glitch they got a fifty percent coupon. Today I finally got a response to my report of the glitch and all it said was to call them if I was still having a problem.
