I played one day and then it said it was closed. When it came back, it didn't restart from fresh but said I'd already played the first day. Bummer, was hoping for a free play.

So I wait a day until I can play again. Hmm, the book cover didn't load and I have no idea what this "Ellis Hyde" question is referring to. Begin randomly clicking answers. Apparently due to the usual slow response delay I wind up clicking the correct answer twice, resulting in the "you have already answered this question" message instead of the coupon message. No problem, I'll get it from my email... except THEY NEVER SENT THE COUPON.

So instead of the bonus coupon I was hoping for when the contest had to be restarted, I got negative coupon.

Usually the question has the title and/or the author so you have some idea what it's referring to. I searched for Ellis Hyde and found out there is a curtain shop in the UK by that name. Further investigation revealed the question was about At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen.

Is anyone else having a problem with the captcha codes? The ones I'm getting have a black blob behind the words and the words are curvy and just impossible to read. I've reloaded many times, tried having my son read them and even tried the audio code to no avail. Any ideas appreciated!

I received a 90% off code email last night, tested it this morning and it doesn't work. Mmmmmm ......

Googling Kobo Customer Care Australia revealed that, for free from Aus to CA, we can ring the following number and actually speak to someone. Woopee!!

1800 231 234

So, after the Cust Service Rep and I both checked the same book and found the code didn't work, then tested the code 'Kobo2015' and it did work (to prove that the book is discountable), he will send me an email and I have to go through the slowish process of Kobo determining why the code doesn't work, and considering what they'll do next. Mmmm, wonder how long all that takes .....

I suggested that the best method might be that I just forward the code bearing email to him at Customer Service, but no - apparently they've got no way of receiving an email directly in the department that he's in. Mmmmm again.

EDIT
Well, Kobo's been very quick with their assistance, just got an email saying the matter has been escalated and:
'During the call we made sure that the promo code that you received was not working. We have gone through the email which you sent us yesterday and tried the promo code on various books but still it did not work.

So we are going to escalate it to the next level where they can provide you with an alternate promo code for your purchase.

We request you to wait for 24-48 business hours to receive a different promo code.'
