Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion - Page 869

I think Kobo is trying to set up the $5 off for a new member promo in Aus. When I opened kobobooks.com this morning I saw the $5 new member promo blurb, which appears in a pop up box type of screen. But when I clicked on 'find out more' it went to a part page that didn't have any info on the promo.

So, I exited out of Kobo and came back in, but the pop up box didn't come up. Nor the third or fourth times I tried it.

Perhaps they're also doing this promo in NZ?

I wasn't logged in at the time.

On another note, the Contest is likely to start today or very soonish, eh. Let's hope they include Aus and NZ.

Okay, I was searching for an author on the Aus site, still not logged in, and the $5 off new account promo dialogue info and link shows up. (See photo.)

Note it's up the top of the screen.

Jo, can I suggest you use the Aus link to start a new account in NZ.

I suspect that kobo does Aus and NZ stuff simultaneously.

Anyway you'll know aftyer you've made the new NZ account because the $5 should show in your account, or at the very least if you were to test buy a book it should show up on the Payment screen.

Artig try searching for an author or book and then you should see the $5 promo up the top. (Like the pic I posted)

It looks like I finally got kobo site new look. Which would be nice, if I could only find paypal as payment option.Did they do away with it or is it hidding somewhere? How do I turn it back again?

I think India is the only site I've come across so far that doesnt have the PayPal option listed right next to the other payment options.
Under the big Payment Info heading you should see the option to use a Kobo gift card, and then under that the options for Credit Card, PayPal or Visa Checkout.

If you are on what I call their "international" shop - you pay in US dollars regardless to your national currency - then unfortunately they removed PayPal and left just credit card option for payment.

The only place that I find the paypal option in the Aus site is on the Checkout page after you click on Edit Info. When you enter your payment details in the Payment Info page the paypal option isn't there for me in Aus, only Credit/debit card choices.
