Yeah, I saw this one too. The funny thing is that Open Road is running a special on all the bookstores (there's another thread in the Deals forum here on Mobileread), so I wonder if this is on top of that promotion or this is Kobo's way of implementing it.

Perhaps the end of publisher set pricing will come with the resolution of the anti-trust lawsuit, and Kobo codes will work on all books? Until then, I will have to hold off on purchasing any Hemingway or Steinbeck titles.

If they issue lots of codes and many of them for a fairly large % off now, when few books qualify, then perhaps we should expect fewer codes, with smaller amounts off when more books can be discounted .

I know I have let codes go unused because I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy. I'd use more of them when they could be used on any book I wanted.

Just used c2auto35.

I've been trying for days but Kobo refuses to let me buy anything with my Card. I get an unexpected error has occurred, Please try again later every time. This is not the oops something went wrong page which I just ignore then download my book.

I finally found a way to purchase with my Card. I choose to pay with PayPal and instead of logging in to PayPal. I was able to enter my Card through PayPal's CC form and it went through. You do not need a PayPal account to pay this way. I don't know why I am having problems. I've purchase Kobo books over a year with this card.

Contact your card provider. They may be blocking the card at that retailer for some reason.

Already did they couldn't help me. It's a reloadable prepaid card which I've used now for over a year. Today I've bought from Amazon, Carina Press and Kobo through Paypal and all went through. They use same bank that the PayPal debit card uses.

I find this happens when "out of country" purchases are being blocked (they are a Canadian company; my card is not).

I also just use PayPal - easier than continually getting the card company to fix the problem and it just goes on the same card, anyway.
