It seems their confirmation email issue has been fixed. Bought books right now using the new checkout and got the books no problem.

Edit: oops, got the e-mails, not the books.

The taxation is messed up in Alberta. We have no Provincial tax (and thus no harmonized tax). I was being charged GST and HST--overcharge of quite a bit on the expensive book I wanted to buy.

I am in chat with Kobo help--sent them a screen shot. Someone at Kobo has done this incorrectly for Alberta.

That is odd that you would be charged both. Do some provinces charge PST on books? In Saskatchewan, I don't get charged PST on ebooks, just the GST.
