I got no such banner on my offer, just a tiny note in the tiny fine print that it might take up to 72 hours for the credit to show. On the upside, the delay did give me time to stumble across an interesting fact I hadn't known before. Kobo doesn't take gift cards or account credit as payment for pre-orders, so I've cancelled all three I had to make sure that when I do buy them, they ARE paid for out of my now ample credit balance, and don't get charged to my Paypal.

You have to have a credit card on file, but the few times I have actually pre-ordered they did not charge the card and used my gift card balance. I don't like to preorder though so don't do so very often.

The Kobo e-gift card "glitch" hit me this time ! The e-mail to my wife saying she had received an e-gift card never arrived, so I had to contact Kobo Customer Care. No issues with Kobo Customer Care, they manually posted the Store Credit to her account, and posted the $10 bonus to my account.
