Well that was a spectacular waste of time. I tried sending the gift card to a secondary email address, and it never arrived. My Kobo transaction history said "delivered - not claimed" but there was not email from Kobo at all in the other account, hours after the purchase. So I gave up and just got the purchase refunded as store credit - no bonus for me

It doesn't always get sent immediately. And the one I did yesterday turned up this morning at 6:24. That's a lot slower than I remember, but, it has arrived. The bonus usually takes a couple of days.

Yes, it wasn't the bonus I was concerned about, it was the gift card. Which eventually did arrive, 12 hours after I bought it and 9 hours after I cancelled it. Who knew that Kobo is now sending them by snail mail?

In my experience, Kobo gift card deliveries get weird if the date in your timezone doesn't match the date in the Eastern Canada timezone. So if you asked for the giftcard to be delivered "today" in your timezone, but it was still "yesterday" for Kobo, they likely didn't deliver it until they got to today.
