I'm glad to come here and see I'm not the only one who didn't like that greeting! Yes, I am female (and if someone at Kobo was looking at my info, my first name is obviously feminine) but it's been years since I would have described myself as a "girl". I guess they must not have my birth date on record

"Hey girl" might be OK as a casual greeting between friends, but it wasn't a good choice for a business email.

As far as I know the cards are NOT usable anywhere but Canada. I'm an affiliate for them and I asked my affiliate manager about gift cards because I wanted to do a giveaway on the blog. This was a while back but I was told they do not support gift cards anywhere BUT Canada. I wouldn't buy a card unless you are in Canada and can use them there.

Several years ago, I would "go traveling" to countries where gift cards are sold, and buy them and send them to myself, but I don't know if that still works. I think they're missing out by not selling gift cards, but maybe they got burned by gift card thieves in the past.

The Kobo cards have also been redone, and no longer require a pin. There is a scratch off area where you find a code. You enter the code in at check out.
