Kobo's new weekend promotion for the latest in their Summer Reading event is 50% off select lists of books using the unlimited use coupon code 50AUG through August 22nd. This is available in Canada, the US, and the UK, and the coupon does not work on books outside the list; at least not for the one I tried.

The books are mostly indie titles, but there are some small press/backlist reprints such as by Tanya Huff (one of her former DAW titles, which is an okay early story but not one of her best), Douglas Smith (Aurora Award winner), and Edo van Belkom (Canadian mystery/horror writer, another Aurora or Arthur Ellis Award alumnus, IIRC), Kristine Kathryn Rusch (former Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction editor and ROC-published author), Dean Wesley Smith (Rusch's husband, and also a backlist author).

Main promo page for Canada, US, UK, with categories (same URLs for each, as far as I can tell): Spine-Tingling Mysteries & Thrillers, Sizzling Romance, Otherworldly Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Resonance by Chris Dolley is also a reprint previously published by Baen.

Well, Australia is a current or former colony...

It kind of depends on your definition of current/former.

To be accurate the US was never a colony as the new nation of the USA was created through the Declaration of Independence, hence it was always an independent nation .

Thanks for the laugh. For The perfectionists among us, America was the 13 colonies , the USA was the independent country. And, as I learned from the Australians series, Australia is a former colony, having lost its colonial designation with political independence around 1900 or so.

I used the 90% coupon this am. Can you use it more than once?

An inch larger than the Aura H20, nearly 2 larger than the standard 6" screen most use.

Still not as large as the DX, which is the only e-Ink device that was sized well for reading PDF without converting.

Like the United States of America, Australia was a collection of independent British colonies. These are now the states that comprise Australia. We tried to call it the United States of Australia, but we got a cease and desist letter from the United States of America for trademark infringement (not to mention that it would have been confusing - both called the USA, imagine the misdelivered diplomatic mail) so we settled on the Commonwealth of Australia.
