So far as I know the 50 percent off codes were only supposed to be good in: CA, US, AU, NZ & UK That is what was stated on the promo. The others are probably in error if they work.

As for the fee, that's obviously a different error on their part.

I've been issued a 90% code that doesn't work on the AU account it was issued for, but it does work in NZ. And yes, the AU book was discouint eligible and this latest 50% code works on it.

Well, you can't call kobo boring!

Thank you apesmom and Blue2u. I believe they have been using Chrome. The promo code with have to be tried as well. Even though they have already made a purchase, the notice that a $5 credit is available on a book that costs at least $5. Credit good until Feb 29. Still shows up, so maybe with your suggestions it will now work.

For those interested, the canadian contest was still working for me as of 11pm est.
Didn't get anything above 35% today though. Maybe they'll make up for it and I'll win the Kobo

In the end I used the 2 x 55% I got, so no posting. Weirdly, at times, both appeared not to work, but did in the end. But the 65 and 75% I got wouldn't work, no matter the coaxing. Figures I've gotten a record number of above 35% for such a flaky contest.
If Kobo has finally decided compensation is a 50% code, that's very silly, since it's available already, to anyone. But I'll try and see.

Edit: no compensation offered at the moment, still given the "investigation needs to be completed first" line...there may be compensation in the future

Yes, pretty silly. But I was told it doesn't expire so I will hang on to it in case I find something after the unlimited 50% ends. Then I'll see if it actually works. Don't want to risk testing it now.
