That is my reaction too. But the credit is sitting in my Kobo account too.

I'm delighted to hear that it works outside the UK.

And I didn't even have to “travel” like I do if I want to buy a UK-region-only book!

I just paid $20.23 for a $30 Kobo gift card in USD. That's with the fee added and without having to choose my state for added sales tax.

I paid via Paypal with my credit card. Gift card was redeemed and the money is in my Kobo account.

For USD it's $20 for $17.37 (13% discount), $10 for $8.54, (15% discount) $25 for $17.37 (30% discount), and $30 for $20.04 (33% discount)

I got $11.52 worth of credit for the $10 card I purchased for $7.10, that's about a 38% discount

Sadly when I looked at the site in Canadian dollars, the payment was shown in US dollars. For the $100 gift card, the price was shown as $76.02 US or ~$107.23 Cdn. Not quite a deal.

I viewed the site in Canadian dollars and it still worked for me.

It's a little involved. For one thing, you still have to click on “For GBP Currency Only” in the “Region” drop-down. Then:

1. Pick a gift card to add to your cart e.g. 20GBP. The value does not matter, you will be removing this from your cart.
2. View your cart. You should see a couple options for “Add and save more” / “Cart-only price”. Look for the 15GBP option and add that to your cart.
3. Now you can remove the initial 20GBP gift card.

This is still working for me right now. I'm not buying more, but I'm still seeing the same prices I saw earlier today (~$16 CAD paid -> ~$41 CAD credit).

I just have to show up and thank you all for letting me know about the deal.

I manage to buy 6 per transaction though. In my case, the dropdown box can be scroll to pick 6 as the maximum.

OK, I'm a bit comfused on the gift card settings:

1) I live in Peru.
2) My banking account in Peru is in U.S. Dollars. (NOT soles).
3.) My Kobo account has a UK address. (I have no trouble purchasing books from that site using my Peruvian-issued card with dollars.)

How should I set my purchase of any cards that may still be available?

Thanks.

I'd recommend buying one £15 card (in the way described - adding a different card and then adding the £15 card in the cart page and removing the first one) and seeing if that works for you.

If it does (which I think it will), how many you buy after that is your call. But I'd certainly recommend buying just one first.

The G2A site is geolocating me in Canada which may be affecting my results. Most attempts to purchase cards results in a situation where the card costs more than it's face value. I can select one GBP card and have a savings show for it (24% on a 10£ card).

It looks like Gamersaurus is out of stock of the £15 card. The £20 card still looks good value, even if not as good as the discounted £15 card.

https://www.g2a.com/rakuten-kobo-egi...10000255662026

It seems to be on sale at CAD$24.50.

It should get you a US$30 gift card, that equates to a CAD$42 in your Kobo account.

It' still a 40% discount. Worth a punt?
