Other than the boot code, the firmware is all stored on the µSD card. You might want to remove the µSD card and check the socket to make sure no flakes of the HZO conformal coating (the stuff that makes it waterproof) are inside the socket. If you do a quick search on the Internet, you will find some messages and videos about doing so.

Hi, I've got 2 Kobo Aura Edition2 N236. Once has been messed with and the sd Card has been partially formatted. The other has a N0000000000 serial.

They are v1 & v2. Could I request the v1 & v2 firmware images, please, so I restore them and edit the serials into the image before writing?

If anyone knows if it's possible (and how) to edit the serial when the Kobo is already set up and working, that would be good to know as well

My (not very old!) Kobo Libra 2 developed an error message, and I attempted to reboot it to see if that would help. Unfortunately, it got stuck in a boot loop and research suggested that this was due to a corrupted micro sd. I successfully removed the sd and confirmed that it was dead - unreadable and unwriteable. I've got a replacement sd so now need an image to try with it.

No. The Sage uses an eMMC which is soldered to the motherboard.

Hi, could I please get a disc image file for the Kobo libra 2 N4182? It's stuck on a white screen and won't boot up. I've tried a manual factory reset but it didn't work.

The date stamp inside is 22-10-04, the full model number is N4182C3189263 (E70K14). Thank you so much!
