Hello everyone,

I have a Kobo Aura Edition 2 (model N236, Mark 7 – serial starts with N2367) that got bricked after an update.
I have already opened the device and removed the internal microSD card, and I am ready to flash it with a clean image.

Could someone please share a full `.img` SD card image for the Aura Edition 2 **v2 (Mark 7 / kobo7)** model?
My current firmware version was 4.38.23171, but any stable version for Mark 7 would work to unbrick the device.

A public link (Google Drive, Mega, etc.) would be very helpful, but I am also fine with receiving it via PM.

Or does it not matter at all?

Hi, My Kobo Clara 2e bricked. Could I get a SD image?

Apparently the Kobo Libra 2 has various versions and Firmware based on the model.. My Libra 2 doesn't power up anymore (though battery is OK) after a failed OTA update.. How do I know the exact model and FW that is required to image a new SD card ?

It doesn't seem to make much difference but you can edit your serial number into the image at 0x200.

For the N236 Aura Edition 2 owners, I informed Kobo about a potential issue. The response was that they are aware of the issue and working on it.

I've written up a suggested recovery procedure for a Kobo N236 Aura Edition 2 that is stuck on the boot screen (3 dots). See: Suggested recovery procedure. This may also work for other Kobo ereaders, after the first steps, follow the manual factory reset for that model.
