Sorry to bother you again, however I am getting "A write error occurred during processing" at the 1/3rd mark when using USB Duplicator Image Writer v1.0 with the the original 2 GB card as well as a different 16 GB sd card. Image is corrupted when trying to mount as well. I've tried redownloading as well.

Nevermind. The issue was the USB writer itself. I switched over to ImageUSB and it worked flawlessly. Thanks a lot!

What were you trying to mount the image with? It is not a Windows disk image file image. For the most part, I use 7-Zip to open the image file and the partitions within it.

And yes, the USB Duplicator Image Writer is rather fussy. Balena Etcher, ImageUSB, Rufus and others are less fussy.

I am trying to restore my Kobo Touch N613, but I am stuck at the Wi-Fi sync screen. After entering my Wi-Fi credentials, the device keeps returning to the beginning of the setup process and does not proceed further. Unfortunately, I cannot bypass this screen, and it seems the firmware requires an online activation, which is currently failing.

Additionally, my power button is broken, so I can only reset the device using the small reset hole. I flashed a firmware image, but it still demands synchronization, and I have no way to skip it.

Would anyone have an older firmware version that does not require mandatory online activation or sync? Alternatively, any guidance on bypassing this setup requirement would be greatly appreciated.

After an attempt to update it, it won't boot or reset. I only get a flashing white LED.

You should be able to update your firmware over a USB connection. Download the latest firmware for Glo N613 from the links on Patrick Gaskin's Kobo Firmware Downloads site. Connect your N613 to your computer using a USB cable and copy the upgrade directory and the KoboRoot.tgz and manifest.md5sum files from the downloaded .zip file to the .kobo directory on your N613. Safely eject and your N613 should update to the newer firmware which should allow you to connect to Kobo over WiFi. There have been quite a few Internet security updates since the firmware in that image

If you are using a Windows or MacOS computer, you should also be able to download the Kobo Desktop app and use that to set up your N613.

If none of this works for you, I could try to inject the update files into the .kobo directory on the image which should trigger the update after you insert the µSD card into your N613 and send you a link to that modified image.

I'm having the exact same problem. Same model. And I didnt even try to update. Nothing. I just turn it off. When turn it on, that happened.
