Left the backdoor unlocked and Wi-Fi on on my PW2, and got bumped from 5.7.x to 5.8.x. Right away noticed the SS hack stopped working. KUAL wouldn't open either. So I installed your JB from here. This got KUAL back, but now, even though the SS hack is in cover mode, I don't even get the placeholder screen - it just uses the built-in Kindle SS images instead. When clicking the preview option in the submenu, I get a blank screen. Should I reinstall Python and the SS hack? Do you think I'm actually SOL?

re-install everything, it can't hurt and is probably needed.

Did you get all the way to step #7 and open the spoiler to learn how to block those forced, OTA updates?

Sorry, step #7 where? Is there a different procedure now than simply using the 'Back Door Lock'?

Thanks for setting me straight with the latest and greatest tools and info. Everything appears to be back up and running, with the latest FW on my PW2, and I'm looking fwd to giving my KV the same treatment. Sweet!

Updated the snapshots again. Testing new stuff to make the life of Oasis owners slightly less painful (and thus this whole JB affair slightly more useful

).

I could very well be mistaken, but I'd suspect you need to reinstall any extensions (and I think that Python counts as an extension), but I doubt you're SOL!

My KOA is now jailbroken and running MRPI. However when I try to install python and screensaver packages all I get is a message saying "destroying packages" and then the reader restarts,
When I check in MR Installer on the top-level of the KOA the packages are gone.
Any ideas?
