Jswolf, have you tried body { padding-left:.... }

Unlikely, but who knows

I don't use padding. I actually find no need for it. But that works and seems to be very easy to setup.

If negative padding on body works, it's certainly more reliable than margin on p. Not all books are well marked up and may use div or, horrors, br everywhere.

Do a search/replace to convert div to p. I do it when I edit a book that uses div instead of p.

Be careful when using negative margins. Make sure that there are no other left/right margins that you don't want. For example, if you have a CSS class that uses a left/right margin of 0, it will give you the normal margins for that class. Also, if you have simulated blockquotes, don't use left/right margins with any value other then 0. That will give you the normal margins which would be good for a blockquote (even if simulated).

I'm wondering if there is a way to add user css to Katsunami's script?
Without this option I cannot control output text patameters like font size, line spacing etc.

You cannot control the line spacing without doing so via the actual font you are embedding. You have to tweak the metrics of the fonts. KF8 has a line height that's set to large and you cannot go any smaller via the KF8 CSS.

But if you embed one of my modified versions of Charis SIL, you will have a smaller line height as well as more text per line vs the fonts in the Kindle.

On the Kindle Fire you can. I remove the Line Height from my stylesheets because it seems to either be too large or too close.
Soo many books to reconvert.

EbokJunkie only has eInk Kindles which do have the KF8 line height issue.

Thanks, but editing multiple epubs is out of question.
Well, Calibre stays as the only applicable tool for me...

On my PW1 all tags but one in your test file do nothing.
Only asterisk works but -40 is overkill.
This is what I get with the -25px under * (the only change I did to your file):

Evidently, PW1 and PW2 are two different readers :-)

Yes, they are running different firmware. No telling what all differences there are between them.
