Hey!! Let's get some action going! What are we reading?

I've been struggling with reading for some time. I start, but then get distracted, such that I'd have to reread, and find I don't have the will for it. It's a unique experience for me in my entire near-40 years of life (infant illiteracy excluded ).

Anyway, I decided to ease myself back in with some shorts, and I'm doing it with Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men.

It's working. It's also rather brilliant. I'm gettin' the buzz back.

I'm starting "Boneshaker" by Cherie Priest - slow start, hasn't grabbed me yet. Will trundle on a bit more and see if it picks up.

It's National Poetry Month here so I've been randomly dancing through Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass.

Others may praise what they like;
But I, from the banks of the running Missouri, praise nothing in art or aught else,

National Poetry Month! Yea!!!

Here's one of my favorites, which I find myself frequently reading:

I'm half-way through, i.e. I've finished the first book in the omnibus edition.

I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of her other novels (unsurprisingly, I suppose), and I think it would nowadays be classed as a Young Adult novel. I'll certainly finish the second half.

Currently reading The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster.

Finished The Egg and I and Love Among the Chickens, plus I'm about 3/4 done with Second Coming by David Burton and The Doomsday Key by James Rollins.

Just finished Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. It was a freebie on the Sony store. I liked it, but not enough to read the sequel. I worry she is going to get too into her imaginary world's politics at the expense of the story, like Kelley Armstrong sometimes does. Not sure what I'll read next.

I got an email today from Calibre about the new Oprah biography. I am kind of tempted. I suppose the gossip sites will be reporting the juicier bits anyway though...
