Oh, I loved those when I was a teen! Lately I've been re-reading a lot, and I thought I'd like to re-read those, maybe.

I read a few scandinavian authors, translated to French, and usually liked them though they were rarely very happy Can't remember the names though. The latest was a series of books relating the life of a woman named Dina. I'm not even sure what country she lived in, I think Norway. Karma to anyone who can guess the title or author from that

Lets see, lately I have been reading a lot of Esoteric books, "The Secret History of the World" by Jonathan Black 2008(?), and "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" by Manly P. Hall 1928, and their related reference materials. On the Sci-Fi/Fantasy side of the house, I just started rereading the two David Eddings series, The Belgariad/Mallorean, and The Elenium/Tamuli, as well as an old collection of fantastic Robert Heinlein novels.

Found it: it's a trilogy and the first book is called (in English) Dina's Book by Herbjørg Wassmo. I liked it a lot.

I think I read this many years, but I can't really remember it. There's a film as well. I am Dina It's Danish/Norwegian (with Gerard Depardieu).

Yeah, I remember Mumitroldene, too. I remember they puzzled me a great deal. I'll have to pick up 'The year of the Hare' at the library - sounds fun.

Mark Twain (Samuel Clemmins) essay - Corn Pone Opinions.
(first essay in The Best American Essays of The Century)

How relevant! to advertising, politics, and apple fan boyz.

Well, OK, and it kept me reading easily enough. But I'm concerned that she's still pulling new kinds of characters into the storylines. It can't go on indefinitely! (Although this time the fact that there's new kind of being for Sookie to find out about is pretty much irrelevant to the story.)

I'm slightly more concerned that the story is getting more and more unlikely. You know what I mean - in the context of the world depicted.

Some vampires in view have been around for over 1,000 years. Many are several hundred years old. And some are new. But we're seeing lots of vampires get destroyed throughout this series. The destriuction rate is too high. It seems that revealing themselves was a really, really bad move on the vampires' part, as if things carry on this way, there'll be no vampires left in a decade or less.

But anyway, although not as good as the earlier novels, I'm going straight onto the next one, From Dead To Worse by Charlaine Harris.

Also no longer available form fictionwise it seems.

I'm not currently reading anything...I'm knee deep in edits for the book I have coming out in August. This one's going to take more time that "Queen of Hearts" that's out now because I wrote it a couple of years ago and it needs a thorough edit.

Reread the Twilight series for something easy and then started working my way alphabetically through my Sony:
1st to Die - James Patterson (this is my last one and I'm still not a fan)
The Amber Room - Steve Berry (mediocre adventure story)
Bill Bryson's African Diary (didn't realize this was so short, not as good as his others)
The Book Thief (about 100 pages to go but enjoying it)

I couldn't make it through The Amber Room. I'm a Steve Berry fan, but that one just dragged.

Right now, I'm reading through the Hugo nominated short stories. I've read

1. Eros, Philia, Agape
2. Bridesicle
3. Act One
4. Overtime
5. Divining Light
