Ah, there's my problem. Under "Notes", I have just "TOC", "Bookmark", "Annotation". No "Scribble".

Under "Settings"->VersionName, I have "release-1.4.0 14-05-12 -636)" if that can help in debugging, thanks.

Maybe you could try installing the update again?

Tried... no luck. Still says the same release name. What should the release downloaded from ereader.de give as the release name?

Please answer few queries since you have both M92 and M96.Do you think M92 users should upgrade to M96 if the principal use is reading and annotating technical pdf files? I know that annotation support is not complete yet, but i believe it will get better with subsequent updates.

1) Is there any improvement in page turning speed in normal mode (non A2)?
2) Can we read books in A2 mode or the text is illegible.
3) I never did any web browsing on M92. It is very slow. How much improvement is there in M96. Can it replace tablet for reading text only webpages?

1) page turning speed is pretty much the same.

2)A2 is k if the text is not too small. Even browsing in A2 is possible in landscape mode.

3) The browser is pretty decent, much faster than the one on the M92. You can also use the dolphin browser with jetpack, but it is slower.

I personally bought the M96 because I was hoping 2 of the most annoying bugs would be fixed. 1. Annotation merging software not merging straight lines. 2. The pen not working if you leave it close to the screen (like when copying something from a book). The latter bug is not present any more, while the merging has not yet been coded yet fot the M96.

I have almost the same expectations and concerns:

I want merging to be better coded than it is in M92. There is the straight lines bug and when i try to merge a file with too many scribbles, my M92 hangs and i don't get a new file.
I was expecting and almost certain that they would give us a customizable toolbar. Taking 3-4 steps to pick your desired tool is very cumbersome.

I would prefer they addressed these bugs on the M92 rather than going for a new device and a new OS, but I guess that's not the way this market works. They probably need to sell more units to keep themselves afloat and they hope the label Android would do the trick.

Maybe in the long run they would be able to introduce new features more easily on an Android system.

hello! I'm concerned about privacy. i want a private ereader.

is the m96 with android now more vulnarable to leak than m92?

Does it have an android mode and a linux mode or is it just android now? Does this android now all time connect me to google? Like with a smart phone.

i wonder if the better specs and performance in m96 are worth a loss in privacy compared to m92 with linux. if that is so. not sure?

You could try using apps like permission manager to control what the other apps are allowed to do.

It works, however, all readers that I've tried are inferior to the Neo reader when it comes to the scribbling experience. I guess they're not optimized for such a screen.

I totally agree. Such toolbar for frequently used tools/actions is a must-have!

Another small bug: while scribbling it sometimes takes two presses of the "previous page" button to return to the previous page. This only happens after you scribble something on a particular page and not when simply browsing through the pages.

long click on the PDF File opens a dialog menu. Please go to the OPEN WITH.. and select Neo Reader (you also can set it as default reader app). Afterwards press menu button (opens settings) click on FONT and select Bold. Click on ZOOM and select AUTO CROP. Actually I find the book very good readable with this settings even in two column view

Try also FONTS -> Reflow mode. In this particular book it allows you to read in One Column mode
