Yeah, you and everyone else. CBN helps, but last night I resorted to a good old fashioned sleeping pill. But really, the worst is when you _stop_ taking the prednisone. Two solid days of feeling like s***. Even with only a 3 day course, which is all I'm allowing myself.

Morning coffee since it's a cool day so far making a hot drink enjoyable.
I'm having fun with a script that was supposed to convert date formats. I'm not certain what the original author tested on but so far ISO (yyyy-mm-dd) dates do not convert to either dd-mm-yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy correctly and trying to convert other formats with 2 digit years to yyyy-mm-dd gives multiple errors. I was going to modify it to handle dd-MMM-yyyy to/from ISO for ease in sorting but am now thinking it's time to look for another solution that will run under Python3 or Python2. The current one claims to have been modified to run under Python 3 but it looks as if the conversion was not done correctly. |

So, it's Friday Night. But all that prednisone had me buzzing today, so I got ambitious and made a lovely Quiche Lorraine. Which we had with a local cider. Perfect, and the pizza and Talisker will just have to wait until tomorrow.

Looking for a decent, full bodied, moderately dark roast coffee (Peet's Major Dickasons, or Kirkland Pacific Bold style) in a compostable Keurig pod. If anyone has experience with any of these, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. I can state unequivocally that Alegre Coffee Morning Roast K Cup is utter and complete dreck.

So far I've only tried a couple of varieties of compostable Keurig pods and they all suffered from the quality dropping after the package had been opened for a couple of weeks (both OneCoffee and Salt Spring Coffee used the naked coffee holder). I was looking to try Evergreen which use a PLA cup but that does need a composting system that can handle PLA. Some in the greater Vancouver area do, some don't. So far my query as to whether my area does hasn't received an answer.

Gosh, I don't think I've seen an IGA in 20 years. Have you ever tried the re-usable, washable, Kcup pods? My last job only had a Kuerig and I could not stomach the environmental impact, so I got one of the little refillable ones to make my coffee. |

I was using reusable K-cups 50% of the time at work and about 90% of the time at home. I find them easy enough to use but my XYL has some issues with using them. Arthritis and fine motor control don't mix well.
![]() Still a few IGA's in this area but they are a dying breed. |

As for IGAs? There are three on the Coast, out of a total of 6 real grocery stores. And up here? There's the IGA or a very small grocery that's also the best butcher on the Coast. |
