For the record, I'm still getting the exact same problem. I also tried it on a bunch of other novels on wuxiaworld, and it's the same.

We now support both wuxiaworld.com and wuxiaworld.co -- two different sites.
It looks like you're talking about wuxiaworld.com.

I cannot reproduce this. Are you sure you manually installed the latest test version (see link in my sig)? This fix is not yet in the released version.

I just wanted to send out a quick thank you to you, JimmXinu.

I always scan back about 20 pages and pay attention for a couple weeks after I have an issue, and it's amazing how much you get done from so little information.

You ask for debug reports and only get a cut and paste from the error message. Yet you still manage to figure out whats going on enough to fix the problem, generally within a couple hours.

That effort is worthy of respect.

During my weekly update ran into issues with webnovel.com. All my links returned same error "None of the links need updating", however manual check shows all of them have updated chapters.

Example
https://www.webnovel.com/book/7920706906001505 - site chapter count 535, log shows "Existing epub contains 481 chapters, web site only has 127. Use Overwrite to force update." Internal chapter count is also off....

Only the first 127 chapters of that story are 'unlocked', the rest are 'locked'.

FFF used to have code to get around the pay wall to download locked chapters, but it stopped working back in June this year and was removed. FFF has since only recognized 'unlocked' chapters.

I suppose that either you downloaded those before Jun, or that the site or author has changed all those chapters to 'locked' since your last update.

The literal answer to your question, ie how to reverse a two person ship (without regard to content) with possible separators '\', '/' or '§', while preserving separator whitespace is surprisingly complicated to get right:

add_to_replace_metadata:
 ships=>^(.+?)([ ]*[§/\\][ ]*)(.+)$=>\3\2\1
# note that \ must be escaped to \\ in the regex part.

If you only want to change those specific ships, the most straightforward way is to just do those exact strings:

add_to_replace_metadata:
 ships=>Jack Sparrow § Elizabeth Swann=>Elizabeth Swann § Jack Sparrow
 ships=>Will Turner/Elizabeth Swann=>Elizabeth Swann/Will Turner

However, if what you really want is all your ships sorted alphabetically (even when more than two), while preserving the separator character and normalizing separator spacing, you can add turn on sort_ships the '§' separator to sort_ships_splits.

sort_ships:true
## default sort_ships_splits already does \ and &, but it removes spaces around /
sort_ships_splits:
 [ ]*/[ ]*=>\s/\s
 [ ]*&[ ]*=>\s&\s
 [ ]*§[ ]*=>\s§\s

Two caveats:
- With Win10 CLI, putting '§' in personal.ini caused an error reading the config file.
- As I recall, ships with more than 2 names and different separators may cause undefined ordering.

In Calibre's Search & Replace? You could certainly do a text replacement for each. I don't know how you'd do a regex on a column with possibly more than one value.

If you've been saving an FFF Metadata column, you could use 'Update Calibre Metadata from Saved Metadata Column' once you have your personal.ini settings all squared away.

It's probably safe to assume comma as separator.

Note, I removed the backslash. I think @Tanjamuse was just trying to use the single backslash to escape the slash but that's not needed inside [ ]. That tripped me up, too.
