I've successfully downloaded a test story from wattpad.com.

Our adapter for wattpad.com doesn't include any login code. I assume that a 'private' story would require login, so no, FFF can't download it.

Without knowing the story URL you are using, that's all the help I can give you.

I have a minor but annoying problem, and I don't know exactly where the best place to ask is, but I hoped somebody here might be able to help.

I download a lot of fanfic (mostly from AO3) and for a long time that was what I read on my Kobo. More recently, though, I've been buying some commercial books directly from Kobo. The problem I have is that the typeface on the commercial books displays much smaller on my Kobo than the typeface in my fanfic epubs. Obviously I can change the size, but it's enough of a difference to make it frustrating to have to switch backwards and forwards.

When I read the same epubs through Calibre, or on my tablet through an app, the typefaces appear very much the same size.

Does anybody have a idea about how to fix this - do I need to specify a smaller typeface size for the fanfic, or is there anything else I can do? Or is there somewhere else I can ask that might be able to help?

I can't help you with changing Kobo files.

By default, FFF doesn't set a font size, but you could experiment with adding custom css to reduce the default size in personal.ini with something like this:

For the record, this is a problem with the two different renderers used by Kobo. The one used for kepubs (all the books you download to the device) uses a different scaling or something than that used for epubs. And that means you need to select a larger font when reading kepubs to get the same size text as for epubs.

I can think of four ways to work around this:

• Selecting the font for a book when you change formats. A pain, but some of the commercial books need this anyway as some book designers have weird ideas of what size the standard paragraph text should be.
• Adding a font size to each book as mentioned above. This will work but is a problem if you use multiple reading platforms.
• Use the KoboTouchExtended driver to convert the book to kepub when they are sent to the device. This has advantages and disadvantages. There is a lot of discussion about this in the Kobo forum.
• Use the modify CSS option in the KoboTouch driver to add some CSS to the stylesheet when the book is sent to the device. This can be device specific if you have multiple Kobo devices.

How do I get fanficfare to stop overwriting everything? I like keeping the author's notes that robst on fanfiction dot net posts, but he removes them when he finishes a story. There are other times I don't want it to overwrite. The setting is there but a recent update broke it.

Using EPUB update on ffnet, it's working fine for me with the current released version.

If you are using any other output format, or using Overwrite settings, then, yes, FFF will download all the past chapters again.

Update can also cause chapter overwrites if you've 'cleaned' the epub in some way that removed the hidden meta data that FFF uses to determine what each downloaded chapter's URL was.
